Micah, I’m about your age and have been fishing around the Charleston area for 20 yrs. I only get to go 3-4 times a year if I’m lucky. I got extremely good at redfishing but am bored with it a little now. You have taught me everything I’ve learned the last two years now about other types of fishing. We actually went back to standard time. Daylight savings happens in the spring. Daylight savings ends in November and starts standard time again through the winter.

From what i understand the popping cork imitates feeding of fish. You can also use small soft bates like vudu srimp or anything with good action when you pop the cork they will imitate a real shrimp. or but fall/winter fish tend to like small baits. Popping corks are great for shallows and getting that feeding frenzy going.

I was just crappie n bluegill fishing yesterday. Caught my crappie limit on jigs so i switched to worms for bluegill and i went on a run where i caught like 10 bluegill on the same worm. Lol I fish this series of canals for crappie and when the big ones are in there, there can be a million people. So you kinda pick a casting lane and people pretty much respect it. Last time this guy in a boat saw us catching fish from shore and parked literally in our casting lane on top of our fish. I’ve never seen anyone do it in all my years fishing. I casted my bobber into his boat twice. And we were ruthlessly mocking this old guy. And he just kept his back turned. Made us all move.

What happenend to fying fish with cornmeal? With a lot of pepper and add some more pepper when you think its too much and a very small pinch of salt. But people put too much salt always with fried fish. The resturants need to taste theire food sometimes . At least once a year .
