Looks like they’ve cleaned this place up a little bit. This used to be the only spot I would go for beefs. Had been taking my son there since he was five. Then I went in there one day, Chris wasn’t working. Whoever the other guy was, he grabbed the beef out of the refrigerator barehanded and put it in some of the gravy. Took my cash with the same bare hands. Opened the bread up with the hands He just handle my cash with. Put the beef in the bread, then dunked it, barehanded into the gravy, along with half of his hand. Was a very late night before, otherwise he would’ve had some words, but I just went outside and threw the sandwich away.

Next time I head over to Chicago I'm gonna try this Mr. Beef place. I last vacationed the windy city in 2017 and missed out on the Italian beef and deep dish pizzas. I did visit a hot dog joint called Jimmy's and enjoyed that but I feel like I missed out on the full Chicago food experience. Eight Bucks. Nice price. Especially in Chicago. Parking costs more. What do you want to bet that they reduced the amount of beef in the sandwich by 10 - 15% to effectively raise the price? A local grocer has 10 burger patties for $10.00. A year ago, they were 1/4 lb. Today they are 3.5 oz.
