About This Episode:
Today we're in Hi Chi Minh City which is also known as Saigon. I headed to Ben Thanh Market to find some stinky fruit. The name? Durian. Sounds smelly, right? After I dropped $9 on a melon, the vendor cracked it open and allowed the distinct aroma to be shared by all within a ten meter radius. But how did the Durian taste. Well, watch the damn video. Seriously, why are you even reading this? I only write this here so the keywords like Durian, food, Vietnam, Ben Thanh Market and so on register for google searches, ya know. Well, anyways...bye.

I love how you keep the reactions real in your videos unlike those other channels where they just go over the top to generate more views. They are the reason why other people are still afraid to taste this wonderful fruit, they create the illusion of disgust. But in reality it isn't. I mean it's the King of Fruits! I almost couldn't believe he used that exact word because, when I and some friends of mine had one of these many years ago (I think in Singapore), we all agreed that the taste was: "If you could quantify a fart into a taste, then that is what it tastes like". And that's exactly what we told our other friends when they asked what it was like.

You're pretty spot on when you said it's a divisive fruit. Half of my friends love it, the other half hate it. It's an acquired taste. Originally, I hated it, but now it's feckin' amazing. Have you tried Japanese natto?

Durian is really smelly, but once you get used to the smell it would start to taste sweet and even smell sweet. Unlike other acquired tastes this one is legitly tasty once you get used to it

Durian is my favorite fruit. NEVER have I eaten any durian that smelled bad. It smells lile fruit, it smells sweet & tastes sweet with a custard consistency. Maybe our durian in Davao Philippines is just different 😂

The fruit is not that bad. I can't eat the whole thing but it's not as bad as people say. They sike themselves out before they taste it. There's a desert where you add coconut milk and sticky rice to it and I think that version is super tasty. Great show btw, my greatest find this summer and I'm watching every damn episode. I love how your open-minded about other foods and don't make a stupid face like Andrew Zimmerman when he hates something.

I love durian! But the taste depends on what kind/type of durian your getting. Here in Davao we have puyat, native, arancillo and other kinds of durian. I've also tried the malaysian one and its really delicious.

My family own the durian orchard. I grew up eating them. Right now is durian season in my hometown. You should try it with glutinous rice, coconut milk and sugar.

Sonny I challenge you to eat dog meat...lololol ...most people they don’t understand. Country like Vietnam been through so many wars for 1000 of years. Pore people invented all kinds of food to survive. They past this tradition onto their children. Unfortunately dogs is one of these dishes. We grew up here in United state. 80% of us are over weight. Because we have much more choices in food then others. We should be great full.
