I actually bought a box back then, and ate them well before they expired. They were pretty good as I recall. The other product to acknowledge the year 2000 was M&M's, because MM is 2000 in Roman numerals.

Omg I have a box of those and I bought them myself back when they came out in 99 😁 Never opened it and mine has no leaks and is in WAY better shape than that box. No dents or anything and isnt dirty. But this is the first time I've seen someone else with another unopened one of these, I thought I was the only one who still had one. Lol.. PS I cant believe you put them in your toilet I totally thought they were gonna clog it up 😂 Dude just toss them in the trash next time!

It was total chaos because of two whole digits. I remember it well. Specifically, from my outlook, the insurance industry was in complete panic because of potential data issues/data loss/improper rating of risks and the fact that there was really no way offhand to determine whether someone was a newborn or 100+ without all four digits. That was minor relative to the concern of nukes and other nasty stuff pulling its own cords.
