Something you should try if you are up where I think you are is getting that kayak out on the St John's river January to Feb. The American shad run is INSANE and they run all the way down to near Titusville. Freshwater tarpon! They taste REALLY good and put up a heck of a fight. They like white or chartreuse flies, hair jigs, or my favorite are wiggled in slowly in line spinner roaster tails meant for panfish. They hit hard, fight hard, and flood the river for awhile! For Sheepshead I found more luck putting the crab on a crappie jig and letting it drop or drag right along the pilings over and over, rather than letting it sit. The big ones wait for the falling food and push the smaller ones to the bottom for the scraps! Oh and hit up the titusville space coast area sometime. Mosquito lagoon and the north indian river lagoon are prime fishing and kayak spots. You can slam some giant sheepies by the NASA trestle across the river, and fight the biggest redfish of your life in the lagoon. Shore fishing has haulover canal for big fish, canaveral pier, titusville pier, gator creek, and playalinda beach can't be beat.

That first cast sheepshead got off was so sick man😮. Lucky you hooked up on the second one, it was just as big as the first one. Muddy support shoe, that was shocking to see. You must have several in order to keep up with always having a clean dry pair. Awesome day regardless 😊

Hey Mike, go to home Depot and get some of the yellow construction boots. They should have one to fit your boot, and definitely a size for regular shoes. Use a old bread bag to help slide the boot in and out easier. They are great boots, and I have rarely poked a hole in them while working outdoors. Give them a try, they're not so expensive either. Lowe's will have them too. Tight lines and have some more fun in the mud! 👍👍👍🙏🙏
