So funny story… my 6 year old has been begging for a bearded dragon for a year. I saw that video of that girl and her bearded dragon sharing veggies and I finally caved last week. That was hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣I've always fed my beardie by hand, so she's kind of spoiled that way. My beardie will NOT eat veggies or fruit without being tricked. The best way I've found is to take her outside and wait until she opens her mouth to regulate, and then just pop the fruit or veggie in. It's a battle of wills, sometimes. Who's going to get too hot and want to go inside first, me or her? 😁 I think the only thing she'll eat without coercion is watermelon, and then it's still kinda hit and miss. She absolutely hates strawberries, though. If I put them near her mouth, she'll back up, wipe her mouth on the floor, and give me THAT LOOK. Mine did bite me once, by accident. She was going for a piece of watermelon, and got my finger instead. Neither one of us was happy, lol.

You need to tell Loki that blackberries almost always have worms in them!!! (Which is why I no longer eat them, myself, no matter how delicious they are at peak season!) I think they may eat "with" you because they view you as competition for food, and if there's competition, it's almost eat-or-die instinct.

Beardies are a lot friendlier than we give them credit for, not everything is about dog-eat-dog survival. In the 15 years I've taken in rescued beardies, many a little one has just hung out and shared treats with me, just because. Competition doesn't even come in to it, they absolutely have hearts and souls. It's not all cut-throat!

It helps to cut up the fruit. Mine are like goddamn garbage disposals. There's not much they refuse. They HATE flowers for whatever reason. They love greens and blueberries are like crack. I've been bit a few times by accident. I hate tong feeding so I hand feed bugs and just wasn't paying enough attention, lol.

Honestly my bearded dragon searches the bed after my boyfriend and I eat in my room with him for crumbs and dropped food. He then eats everything like a little vacuum cleaner. He's chubby because of this. Still very young so I expect him to end up like the bearded dragon in the clips you showed.
