Thank you so much for sharing a personal experience so intimately! We fell in love with Shin Sun Gumi in Torrance after first trying it 20+ years ago. A post-Covid move back to Western Canada has left us realizing just HOW much we fell in love, and your vid is a welcome nostalgia trip. I am learning from you to grill Yakitori at home, and the meat quality here is awesome. Actually sourced some binchotan (as well as authentic Mirin from Japan that somehow got thru Canadian customs!) but have yet to make the final leap. This vid has given me momentum, as soon as the heat wave subsides…. Thank again for sharing!

Torisashi, chicken sashimi is a thing in Japan. Rare to find it here but sometimes its a secret menu item.
