Hi - I am doing an oil change on my M45 supercharger (out of a MINI) and wanted to ask if there is any reason not to remove the snout to inspect the coupler and gears. Does the snout self align (with dowels, etc) when you put it back together? I already have the anaerobic sealant (plus the activator! don't forget the activator!)

Generally you would just spin it if it’s smooth your ok….you can check in and out play and side to side with everything attached should be very minimal if any

Yes it only goes on one way

New coupler is poly, it is a Lil tighter but it all goes back together relatively easy and aligns only one way. As long as the 3 pins on the coupler are aligned to the opposing 3 prongs it will align fine.

Mine had a spring in it.

Rgr. Just put it all back together with. It kinda separates the 2 bearings. Will see as well.
