Looks good great video. Definitely encouraged me to do a mixing station once I finish and install my sink

Slick setup. Did you swap out the stock 5/8 hose in the reel for the clear? Tired of tripping over my drain and fill hoses that never get tidied up in the garage, but want to use my existing 3/4”ID Clear-Flex 70NP hoses (40 feet each). That is if they can be adapted in the hose reel? I figure 40 feet of 3/4 would still fit in this 65-ft reel.

Looks good! One suggestion would be to use a block of polyurethane under the pump rather than plywood. It will not swell/rot if it gets wet and also will help reduce vibration noise when pump is running.

I was also gonna comment putting something under that pump in case it vibrates

Do you have a GFCI outlet behind the tank? If not you probably should.

What did you make the stand out of? Is it 1x4?

Looks good. I would recommend putting a ball valve coming of the tank bulkkead. If you have a manifold break you can isolate the tank.
@eatsleepreef95654 жыл бұрын
Reason I didn’t do that is because it would have made the whole piece stick out way too far. To isolate it is actually simple just replace the $5 bulk head as there is unions in either direction.

The T piece coming out of the mixing barrel bottom could be turned 90 degrees. This would give you pump inlet to the right and outlet to your hose on the left hope this makes sense Enjoying the videos

I like that idea of the 45’s at the bottom but I would point the 45’s up a bit so it will return the water up more instead of in a circle at the bottom of the tank.

Mixing station has been on my mind for a while, I am just trying to find 40 gal tanks with an 8 inch lid
@eatsleepreef95654 жыл бұрын
Ya the big lids are harder to find. The same company that makes mine makes a version that the whole top opens, so it’s like a 20” lid

@@eatsleepreef9565 Where did you purchase your container from?

This is an awesome video! Thanks so much for sharing! I'm building a very similar mixing station and my Ace Roto Mold tanks seem to have the same 5" diameter opening as yours. I totally get why you need to build the in-tank mixing piping from the bottom up... but my question is: how the hell did you manage to glue it all together? That 5" opening seems way too small to maneuver and to have all the pieces fit. Please advise if at all possible. Thanks in advance!
@eatsleepreef95654 жыл бұрын
Honestly I even impressed my self being able to glue it all with such a small opening. The key was inserting the bottom mixing bar first without the pvc that comes up. While holding it inside with one hand I applied glue then inserted the long piece.

Are you afraid of the power bricks heating your tank from underneath?
@eatsleepreef95654 жыл бұрын
These get warm if anything. No where near to creat enough heat do that. Honestly I wish it would so I wouldn’t need a heater 🤣

Made my own much simpler than yours using Brute trash cans, but it does the job and I have one of the containers on casters so when it gets hot in the summer I can bring it inside before doing a WC because it gets hot in my garage.

Why use all the blue pipe? Why not just use regular schedule 80 pipe fitting and such? You could get slip covers showing flow and what is what all the pipe and fittings for the price you paid for all that crap! Unless it’s all giving to you from suppliers!
