I find the idea of all these concept cafés that flourish in Korea and Japan very interesting, but one thing always comes to mind for me.. Is the market for them really that big? How do they stay afloat? Like, in scandinavia where I live, something like a Princess Café would most likely not survive for very long.

Was thinking the same thing! Where I live in Canada, we recently got board games cafes which have become really popular, but to have cat cafes and bunny cafes? I think they wouldn't do well. Also, we have to consider too that here people think of cafe's as just a quick place to grab coffee or to do work. It would be hard to compete with all the Starbucks around.

Cafes where they have animals are popular frequently because it gives people who can't have pets a place to hang out with animals. And in quite a few cases anymore they are animals that were strays or that the humane society and shelters didn't have room for and are up for adoption. And if you're moving to a new place or need time you can put the animal on hold. Also most theme cafes are small events if its like a Final fantasy or Sailor Moon cafe. And then Princess and Maid type cafes are just a common part of the culture. Add in that this is only in large cities and areas where tourists are they do stay afloat rather well. IN that case normally they also have English menus or online translations to help foreigners. Its all about the culture, timing, marketing, and placement. Like if it was in a smaller town it may not work. But you just need to know what to research when starting a place like this. And frequently in Asian countries they can't really hang out or work as easily at home because they all live with their family for a long time and its just not comfortable. SO cafes are places where you go to relax, do work, and even spend time for dates. Thats another reason why animal cafes are good because having the animals with you can actually help you destress and for like a date or if you're studying it would be helpful to calm you down.

I went with my friend and it was really cool but really awkward! When you put on the dress, there is a lady who waits for you to take your clothes off. Then she puts a strapless bra over your bra and helps you put the dress on. Then you wear your heels and a tiara. The dresses are really nice and cute but the lady was so intimidating!

This was the first time that Simon got on my nerves with the amount of complaining the whole time they were in the cafe, after, and even before going. If he was doing it for comedic relief or to 'prove' his masculinity to viewers, he went too far and became annoying. If he was genuinely that whiny about it, I'm quite disappointed, as they were only in the cafe for about an hour, and (from what was shown) he didn't make it fun for Martina. I expected a bit of joking from Simon about it not being his type thing, but from how much they seem to love & care about each other, I would have thought he'd enjoy seeing her happy and get into it for that reason alone. From what Martina said at the end, and her disappointed expression, it feels like his attitude ruined it for her, and it ruined it for the viewers watching too! It would have been more fun for all if he tried to get into it for her - that's not "pretending to give a crap" as he said, that's genuinely giving a crap because you like seeing your wife happy. 🙁😡
