For anyone else who decides to do this run, I recommend learning the keyboard shortcuts. Each monkey is tied to a letter on the keyboard, you can upgrade a monkey by selecting it and pressing ",", ".", or "/", and you can activity abilities with 1-9. It is a small increase in efficiency, but it will make it a bit faster and allows you to do other stuff with your cursor at the same time.

6:42 That's a bit of a simplification, advanced intel makes it so that the range of the submarine is the range of every tower, meaning that it can attack where every other tower is able to attack, but it's not instant complete range, you need to put towers for advanced intel to work, so it really just works for the boomerang in the middle and the snipers, slightly

Okay here a a few tips: - Using an Alchemist on faster firing sniper is basically useless, since the alch buffs are only for a given amount of shots, so they work better if the tower shoots slower. - It might be better to start the second game with a wizard and turn him into a necromancer since that one is currently really op. Especially if you have a wall of fire you do not have to worry about anything until round 70 or something like that. - using cubism both time can also save some time since the beginning of the map is more compressed and you can catch leaks earlier

Also you almost never use alch but on slow attackers. They generally have high damage so a plus 1 from alch is bad

I would definitely like to see how pro BTD6ers would take on this challenge, as I noticed quite a few mistakes you made. If a speedrun like this had to be taken seriously, then ideally you would want to kill the bloons as fast as possible, to keep the rounds from dragging on, to shave off a few seconds from your run. I think your first problem was at round 59, when you didn't prepare at all for the camo leads. The snipers couldn't actually damage them, and the only reason why you didn't die was because Quincy can see camo, and fires a exploding arrow every couple shots, which is not a reliable form of camo lead protection. Top path sniper is often underrated for some reason, but I understand your choice in getting the night vision goggles for early camo detection. I think at least trying out the buccaneer would've given you a higher survival chance. Also, your alchemists aren't doing much. The alchemists buffs aren't timed based, they're based on how many times the affected monkeys attacks. This means whenever your sniper gets it, it loses it a second later. Plus, you started upgrading your snipers to the 4th tier by the time you got the mixture, so they could now pop leads anyways. I would recommend giving the alchemist to a monkey with more wide damage (Snipers have very narrow damage as they attack one bloon at a time). You're also not getting enough ceramic damage. Everytime you see the bloons suddenly pass the normal destruction point, it's because a ceramic has spawned. Ceramics are basically mini-moabs, but not all attacks that have extra moab damage have extra ceramic damage. I would recommend top path sniper or middle path submarine. You mentioned how you had your abilities multiple time - use them to shorten the rounds! Another thing - you said that you can only have on tier five of each monkey in the game - that's incorrect, you can have only one tier five of each upgrade path. So for your snipers you could still have an Elite Defender (Bottom path) and a Cripple Moab (Top). Also, you when put your dart monkey in the front of the track to allow the subs to attack all the way over there... You should've given it extra range and camo vision, to allow the subs to attack camo bloons. I noticed whenever camo came they had to wait for Quincy before they could spot them. These are just some tips to you in the future, and to anyone who's thinking of taking on this speedrun challenge. XD

Small tip: since the sniper monkeys have infinite range, it's best to stick them on the sides of the screen, where other monkeys with set ranges can't be useful from Edit: for everyone saying he needed the placement to help with the subs and making sure they were buffed, you are right. However, there are monkeys that would be be better placed there. For keeping them in the range of the buffs, just put them on the outer fringes of it so that monkeys with actually limited ranges can be placed as close to the track as possible. With his strategy and never going into freeplay it doesn't matter as much, but in general it is a better idea to reserve the space close to the track for things that can't hit anything on the map.

There are definitely a lot of things you could do to optimize the run (like in cubism, give the dart monkey in front enhanced eyesight so the subs can see the camos faster and putting them in the top water so their darts don’t have to travel as far before they hit their target) but was still enjoyable to watch

Just so you know, Quincy isnt used as often as the others due to him "not being able to hit anything". Also, Obyn Greenfoot can see through walls which would be helpful if you were on a different map. On cubism Crossbow monkeys are one of the best towers, because of all the straight lines. they have a lot of pierce, so they can utilize it on the beginning stretch

Personally my favorite monkeys might be boomerang, wizard, and ship (i have no clue how to spell it's name) Boomerang because glaive lord is insane Wizard because necromancer takes care of camo and does so much damage And ship because it has two insanely OP branches (pirate lord being able to one-shot most moabs, and merchantmen can give you pretty much unlimited money, not to mention that their paragon is probably the strongest tower in the game, maybe even more then the VTSG)

I’m just getting into Bloons TD6 and there’s so much stuff to learn about, and it’s been a nightmare trying to figure out which towers to use and which upgrades to get as I’m leveling up and unlocking all these towers. I haven’t played Bloons TD since like 1&2, before it was even called Bloons “TD”, so coming back to the franchise all these years later is wild to see how much they’ve changed and evolved since then. I’m enjoying it, it’s just a bit overwhelming. With all the new stuff I feel like I need to do research to figure out more optimal strategies rather than just filling the map with a handful of the same monkeys over and over like I did years ago.

1. Worst upgrades for the sniper monkey, get full metal jacket and night vision goggles. 2. Get monkey buck instead of monkey sub 3. If you get moab mauler then get it with bigger bombs and heavy bombs 4. For the boomerang monkey if your going for the top path then get it with red hot rangs 5. Try to place ninja and monkey villages down asap in the first match 6. Quincy can see camo by the 24th round so I wouldn't worry about it 7. The metal lead you should use the ninjas bottem path instead 8. If you want to use the monkey sub then the middle path combination with the top path is busted

I have found that all three tier 5 sniper monkeys make an amazing combo. The elite defender gets the most pops out of the three, obviously, but cripple Moab helps a lot with that by stopping the moabs. And the elite targeting priority given by the elite defender just switches the sniper’s targeting priority by itself to whichever is needed more. Using all three is just amazing. And using wizard on all three tiers is also SUPER OP. But for the boomerang monkeys I like to go 5-0-2 so it can pop the leads. More Bloons it is able to pop, the more Bloons it will pop.

I have a suggestion: Do a four player bloons speedrun on the NRG Speedrunning Channel, it could be interesting to see the other speedrunners play this game for the first time.

Heres a little tip: shrapnel on the sniper is generally better than large caliber. The large caliber is only better on rounds like 95 if theres no mib or perma brew, 97 and 100. You should especially use shrapnel on hard difficulty since the balloons that the large caliber is best against (ddts, fortified zomgs, and bads) dont spawn pre round 80.

2 things I wanted to say; 1. Monkey Subs cannot see over the whole map, the Advanced Intel (2-0-0) upgrade allows them to see what other monkey's see in their radius'. 2. Tier 5 monkey's: You can have more than one Tier 5 of a Monkey. For example you can have a 5-2-0, 2-5-0 or a 0-2-5, or whichever paths you choose but you may only have one of each path and a max of 3 tier 5 of the same monkey. Just wanted to clear that up

For top path boomerang monkey always get the bottom upgrades, the 2 layers with fire rangs is better then speed. For any path bomb shooter always get the top path for the last two upgrades, again for 2 layers of pop instead of speed. For top path alchemist go with the bottom path upgrades, being able to give the bonus more often is better then slightly better potions.

Personally, I believe that bottom path tack shooters are one of the best towers for something like this. They take out bloons very fast and are great for putting right next to the entrance.

Faster Throwing would be better with that many towers around. One first tier alc buff is enough for like 1-2 monkeys depending on the attack speed. Faster Throwing improves that. Only the fitht tier is better with perishing potions.

For future reference I would say to make sure that there is only two towers in the alchemist’s radius. The alchemist can only buff up to 2 towers unless it has permabrew.

The reason why the darling gunner requires pops instead of a level is because it was added during the Christmas of 2019 (I’m pretty sure that’s when it was all I remember is that it was a Christmas awhile ago), when a lot of people were past the level where you get monkeys from levels, so they made pops the requirement

Piece of advice. With the sniper monkeys don't place them near any paths as theyre surrounding field of view is actually where they don't shoot plus they take up space where you could have others

Not technically a speedrun, being as the game is speed up with the fast forward feature in game; a true speedrun would not be sped up, and if it was, the time would be increased also based on real time in game not time in real life. This speed run technically took longer than 30 mins.

optimizations to make: use Quincy's abilities more often, antistalling will only lower your time since you went moar glaives, you could've went for the red hot rangs for the extra 1 damage to maximize bloon popping power for your sniper, you could've gone x3x snipers for its bouncing bullet on round 59, you could've made one of them the top route for the cross path for the semi-auto sniper monkeys to deal more damage per shot and also deal with moabs more easily you should've crosspathed the alchemists to throw faster to buff more towers, because any more than 2 at a time being buffed by an alchemist calls for faster throwing

FWIW, glue gunners + anti-camo reveal = OP for crowd control. A line of upgraded ice monkeys + anti-camo is also OP. The shrapnel from popping dozens of frozen balloons *slaughters* even the big boys.

I can see a few ways this could get optimized A map where there's more path at the start to pop the bloons quicker would be the first step to saving quite some time imo. You'd want to stick with a beginner map for cheaper towers, so maybe something like hedge? Cubism and Candy Falls would be good too since if you miss some bloons at the start it doesn't take them as long to be back in range. Your snipers could have used better placement so the shards weren't always shooting out from the path Also, using your hero's abilities would help on the levels that take a little more lol You should also be able to buy stuff in the store that could enhance your progress, would be a hit on your wallet though Hotkey usage (yes, they are there) would also help speed up tower placement
