I agree. I price my stuff near the top, but I will take offers. There are a handful of incredibly unique items I will not let go for cheap. But I just accepted an offer that hurts me, but it's just one thing. It doesn't matter in the long run.

Now that people have to report to IRS, they'll start paying attention. As for selling toys -- the main problem is "recalls". A lot of toys are dangerous and they're on a recall list. AMZ will spank any seller who sells damaged or dangerous toys. I've had toys and games refunded because ONE piece is missing, or it's breakable. I stay away from toys.

@@AkilMcLeod Vintage toys are grandfathered in. But you have to know what's Vintage. Most times there's a year of manufacture. So it has to be more than 20 years to be "vintage", not 10 years, not 5 years, but 20 years. But test the toys and go to the recall list to see if it's on the list before you list it. I think the FTC or some other govt agency has a list.

Also the toy might have "tiny" choking pieces." The govt has a list of recalled toys going back years. I once sold a "hot potatoe" toy & had to refund it. The buyer complained that it was dirty (it wasn't) and it was too small, not like the picture. Then another time I had to refund because a game was incomplete. That's when I learned to open boxes and count pieces. Also magnets. Never sell toys that are magnetized (choking hazard).

One last thing, try to buy "new, sealed, unopened packaged" toys. I avoid any toy that's been used, or the package is taped. There's a seller on YT, I think her name is Hippo something. She only sells plush toys.

One big difference between hobby sellers and pro sellers is making sure you get paid for your time. Let's say I head out to source for a day. I know a lot of hobby sellers who would say "I didn't find anything to sell." Not me, if I spend time, I find something to sell. It's my job. I can't spend time and not make money for it. Too many people look only for home runs and ignore easy money.

I loved reselling toys back in 2019-2020 which was also helping me pay off my temporary bills at the time. I thought I was the only one that had that “nostalgic” feel reselling whether old school or new school. I might consider building a business around it. I agree with you. I say toys is where it’s @ too!
