One key piece of gear that has made my Moonglow spec healing much more impactful is Wushoolay's Charm of Nature (the druid trinket assembled from from Edge of Madness boss drops in ZG). My raid has 2 resto druids - the other one wears 8/8 T2 and mainly spams efficient rejuvs for raid healing, while I am assigned to tank healing duties with healing touch spam. Popping Wushoolay's when I know the tank is going to take lots of damage means I get to spam them with 1.8s casts of higher rank healing touches that would otherwise be 3s! My go-to is rank 7, since my mana pool is good and BWL fights go quickly these days thanks to geared and buffed DPS. Max rank on Vael obviously, and I use a GFPP at the same time to prevent pushback from the AoE damage. I'm very glad I took the time and expense to finish the trinket, and it will also be incredibly good for Huhuran's enrage phase in AQ40.

I play deep resto swiftmend and It's working pretty well for me. I can keep a rejuv on the tanks and use swiftmend on them whenever large damage is taken. This way my heals don't get sniped, and the rejuv on a tank actually gets to heal due to the constant damage taken. Slap some rejuv's on warlocks and R3 healing touch for spot healing the raid. Healing as resto druid has definitely become more challenging with other healers getting more geared and leaving less room for us slow healing druids to get heals in on time.

Lucky for you that no other druid in your raid has higher +healing and/or you guys have communicated beforehand not to snipe each other Rejuvs. Because all it takes is a pug to overwrite your Rejuv and now you can't Swiftmend that target anymore. Thanks for making this video. I've been feeling really bad about my druid healing lately. I didn't even look at my parses for the longest time because the percentages are really depressing. We run with 4-5 shaman and the heal lead is one and they REFUSE to get Healcomm because it "makes their parses look worse". Awhile back I had someone criticizing my parses and I explained look at my decursing numbers etc (which are way higher than everyone else) plus I do this stuff fast but that never really seemed relevant and the suggestion was for me to use higher ranks for my healing spells (as I use like HT rank 3 and 4 mostly with more in my bar if needed) - but my healing is mostly overhealing as it is. Also when I got an opportunity to heal properly on Ouro with the mages/locks and only me not only did a parse a 99.9% but nobody died. I love my guild otherwise but this is all so frustrating. I started also raiding on the alliance side as a lock as well where I can feel like my effort actually does something. I also continuing to do healing in PVP and am also leveling a priest for PVP healing since I already ranked my druid to 14. My guild leader has given permission for me to do a duel spec thing where I can DPS on fights where I otherwise feel completely useless but I need to limit the gear so the regular casters can have things first. So at this point, I have to decide If I just keep going and ignoring the parses or go down this route with my druid. :(

This makes me feel better. My raid has 3 resto druids (including me) and we're all beasts. I hated it at first but I really like the other two druids now. But ever since we started doing fast runs of BWL I've noticed that our parses have gone down. I guess that's because all our resto shamans go their tier bonuses and spam CH to win. Our priests also snipe our heals on main tanks. It's fucking rough. I have about 900 +healing and I feel like I have a hell of a time out healing the other classes. Only fights I can blow people out of the water are things like Ony, Nef, and Chromag because of their predictable damage spikes. I can queue up a higher rank HT or regrowth to just obliterate the meters (I know meters don't show everything. But when I'm top healing and top decurse on Nef, I feel pretty good!) Anyway, i rolled a shaman that's about to hit 60 so that'll probably become my main raid healer and I'll just go full feral so I can actually enjoy druid for a change!

Your video is spot on. I have been in 3 different great guilds, 2 broke apart and I left the 3rd very hardcore guild. Composition is everything! If there are 4+ shaman chain healing, you will do almost nothing and will be a buff bot. My last guild was very hardcore and all melee were expected to be at buff cap and I could not cast HoTs...there was NO point in bringing me. They would have been better off having feral druid buff everyone and bring another shaman or priest. I love my druid and play one in retail as well but in classic at this point I feel like it has been a fun ride but going further is not appealing. I achieved my goal of 8/8 T2 and am happy to wait till TBC. Would rather continue raiding on my lock in classic at this point.

It's really lame/boring but it was better initially when I we all had less gear and also the buff cap makes it annoying to heal the tanks. I switched to regrowth spec to see/try to have more fun but it still doesn't matter much and it's so mana hungry for the length of fights. I’m sorry to hear about your poor experiences. My guild has had trouble getting shaman healers after a few of our’s quit over the last 3 months so I am able to heal our raid decently well which is a blessing and a curse. I think part of your problem is how hardcore your guild is, the content isn’t so hard that you really need to get full buffs. I totally understand why people do it, and I imagine it can be enjoyable to clear quickly and parse well, but I think overall I prefer my guild’s style. The experience has been much better as a Druid in a semi-casual guild. My guild has no requirements in terms of buffs or consumes other than the bare minimum like mana pots so I am able to use hots if I want(usually I don’t because another Druid has more +healing than me but that’s another story). I am personally specced moonglow and exclusively main tank heal with rank 4 ht most of the time and then cancel casting larger hts in fights where damage is more bursty rather than steady. Healing can be boring and there are some fights where I just get sniped the whole time but I think that is really unavoidable with flash heal being the way it is. From what I know about AQ the fights seem to have a lot more raid damage so I imagine that there will be a lot more targets to heal all around. There us druids will shine with our mana efficiency and utility I firmly believe. I’m very interested in going swiftmend at some point so I’d love to see a video talking about when/if you should use it. You were my biggest inspiration to play healing Druid and I hope you can continue to make Druid content in the future!

I found that you really need A LOT of gear if you actually want to tank using hotw spec. This might work if you're in a group with newer players, but if you have 2 or 3 dps that have half decent gear, you're going to lose threat pretty fast if you try tanking without the 5 points that you get from "Natural Weapons" in the Balance tree. It's a fun spec nonetheless.

It's so weird looking at WoW and seeing 99 percentile HPS/Healing being a good thing, its funny though since back when I was raiding in vanilla through to cata it just never really clicked in my head that it could really be any otherway and it took a good while after swapping to FFXIV before kind of clicked that minimising healing to the lowest possible value without impairing overall raid dps so to maximise DPS output from healers could be something that could be an engaging and challenging thing. I'm back in WoW now after 7 years in XIV and having parsed in both games, it still blows my mind in how despite how near identical the games are at their foundations, they are so different in optimisation goals in endgame for top level parsing.
@Drakshl4 жыл бұрын
Idk, if your only talking about classic sure but in retail myself and many other healers I know play for DPS. I don't even raid at a super high level, but blasting whilst keeping your raid up is both satisfying AND the best thing you can do to help your raid clear the content. I know some healers who don't feel this way sure but I don't really get it. Are classic players not like this? I play classic super casually so I'm not really aware of the healer meta at the top
@bunbox50104 жыл бұрын
@@Drakshl Sure but I was meaning more that in WoW its an optimisation that some do and is something as doing "extra" while not actually factored into DPS requriements of content. Like in XIV for example, having a high healing parse is seen as the sign of a *bad* player. The goal is to do the lowest possible amount of healing without causing your raid to have to lose DPS due to playing things excessively safe or spending GCDs on non damaging abilities. Whats interesting though is at its core, the two games are identical, but this behaviour emerges mainly due to the differences in how enrage/berserk is handled between them.

Due to world bosses and zg i am currently specced into hotw and even skipped NS. Our heal environement is somewhat competitve and if i want to be in the Top 3 of the meter i usually have to play against the druids efficency strength. Since we're doing some speedrunning and parsing too the issue of Buffslots has come up in our Raid too. After the fix that leg+helmet enchants do not take up any buffslots, we have agreed with our tanks that if they are worried about losing buffs they should skip out on 1-2 defensive consumables. Usually no Buffs are pushed off MTs in our raid even when priests give them their buffs too.

I've recently switched from regrowth to deep Resto about 1 month ago and I still have the same heal output as my regrowth build parsing around the 95s. We run 2 druids (both similar parses), our tanks are buff capped except 1 slot for rejuv and we will not touch the tanks with regrowth. well, if you want to parse to the pink in a competitive raid, the ONLY way I think is the 1.3s Regrowths 75%+ of the time, i.e. with Nature's Grace and Improved Regrowth*5, that means you can't even take Moonglow. the up side is that if you ARE in a competitive raid, you probably won't need to worry too much about mana efficiency as the boss is likely be down long before you burnt out all your mana after consumables. don't think this style makes very good quality of healing so I don't use it, but it certainly can crank out impressive numbers my current strategy of maintaining a reasonable effective hps is to keep hots and spam fast heals on MT, while dropping Rejuvs on raid members in anticipation of raid damage, snap in NS/HT and Swiftmend when necessary and/or whenever the mana pay out is reasonable, Regrowth / Rk4 HT on large damage targets where fast heals from priests and shamans won't cut it. still, quite difficult when your priests do over 50% of their output on flash heals... I think it's not much at all to call Druids scavenger healers at this stage.

I'm alliance and we have access to more buffs than horde, yet my tanks still keep enough buff slots open for rejuv/regrowth/renew. You need to have a talk with your (shitty) tanks to inform them that it's far better for their survivability to have perma-HoTs on them (especially for fights like nef where the healers get feared) than to have juju might or some weak as consumable buff.
@lanceweekendz4 жыл бұрын
Your tanks aren't fully world buffed then. It's a thing and healers have to adapt to that.
@TLI924 жыл бұрын
That not how it works. Tanks that are fully world buffed and consumed are doing so to enable the dps who are fully buffed and consumed to do more damaged without pulling threat. If the entire raid is doing more damage the boss dies faster and less healing is required and less chance for the tank to die.
@blakebarnes-james57784 жыл бұрын
Renew is a waste of buff slot. If you're running 2+ druids then in an ideal world you should keep 1 buff slot open for a deep Resto (consider not overlapping rejuvs due to ghost buffs) for the rank 10 rejuv rolling and swifmend. Yea druids are kinda cucked right now in classic just by how easy the content is... Druids are NOT bad healers we are just slow :/. Flash healing priests and pallys will always snipe us -- unless you go regrowth with 5 set bonus then suddenly you can be the one sniping hahah. Healing parses are just a joke honestly and it sucks because all the DPS and tanks in the raid have something to look forward to every week besides loot (a lot of us are already loot capped for the phase too) but if your raid is clearing relatively fast and most people are world buffed and you have a least 10 competent healers you can't really parse as a healer let alone a druid healer. So you kinda have nothing to show for your efforts of going out and getting all those world buffs before the raid and farming consumes and whatnot other than the satisfaction that your raid went efficiently which I mean I guess for the type of people we as healers tend to be that could be good enough haha. I'm really hoping AQ and Naxx are not just facerolls and that healers will have to adapt their playstyle for longer fights. Tbc will be different for sure though, resto druids are ridiculously mana efficient in tree form and there's mechanics that require you to have a resto druid (silence in gruul) also a higher buff cap/no world buffs means you can hot everyone and lifebloo is OP. Resto druids will shine for sure in TBC not only for PVE but they're one of if not the best class for PVP.
