Great presentation, thank you very much! We desperately need more conversation between Dr Splichal and Coach Chong. Such a strong focus on exactly the same area and mechanisms and such different conclusions/practises.

I didn't do towel crunches for the reason you stated. We don't crunch our toes when walking so I didn't see much benefit it trying for a movement with a movement that isn't performed. Thanks for all the information

Very detailed presentation. Thank you. As for orthotics, these have enabled me to recover from plantar fasciitis related arch flare-ups a number of times. I recently tried walking barefioot around the house during our warmer summer weather, but it almost crippled me. I could barely walk. I have tried "short foot" but I cannot follow the instructions. I don't quite get it.

I also had planar fasciitis. Keep at it, walking barefoot, but maybe start with shorter periods. Your feet are not used to working out, so they will get tired and the muscles need to strengthen again. But, Your feet will adapt. Also look up EBFA foot release, that helped me tremendously improve. I do the release daily, in the morning and at night before bed.

Thank you for sharing this incredibly valuable information. I was hoping you could help me with an issue I have been dealing with for the past 5 years. I believe I injured my right foot in 2019, during this time I was playing basketball competitively for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. fast forward 5 years, I am 26 and I am having symptoms of my entire right core and leg weakening like crazy and trouble breathing to the right side of my abdomen. When I try to run or exercise I feel extremely sore in my neck and back. I have noticed my right foot is a lot more arched than my left, it looks and feels as if my right abductor hallucis is tight 24/7 and walking/running does not feel as smooth and coordinated as my left foot. Moreover, when I try to stretch my right calf, i don't feel it nearly as much as my left calf. I was wondering if you could give me insight on my specific issue and what exercises you believe I should be doing. When I do the shortening exercises I can breathe much better but I am feeling my abductor hallucis tightening up again. Should I be focusing on loosening this muscle or should I continue strengthening it. Thank you in advance for the extremely helpful videos. I would greatly appreciate any sort of response. 🙏
