Watch my bunion and corn videos. I’m actively looking for ways to eliminate them from my toes. I may eventually get them surgically removed 😢 I’ve been dealing with this for 20 years!
@lindab41527 ай бұрын
Back in the late 70s, I had developed bunions on each foot after wearing pointy shoes to work. I saw an orthopedic guy, and he gave me a “prescription” to take to a shoe repair person, in order to install a metatarsal bar across the sole (on the bottom) of my favorite shoes. It was magic. That bar spreads those joints where the toes meet the foot across the whole foot and immediately straightens the toes. The bar just needs to follow that line of joints, is about 1.5-2 inches wide and only about 1/8th of an inch thick. It cured mine very quickly and my feet felt so good wearing the shoes. Now I only wear Birkenstocks and have never had recurring problems. Hope that helps someone!!

Lots of great advice for bunions. Thanks for taking the time to be so comprehensive. Physiotherapists are so much more attentive. A tremendous amount more helpful information than my podiatrist offered. They just have the 10 minutes to look at your foot and provided the standard, protocol approved response that requires the least amount of dismissive effort.

I've had 3 bunion surgeries, the 1st when I was 29 and it came back! I had the 2nd in 2019 on the same foot before the pandemic along with a torn tibial tendon transfer and hind foot reconstruction in 2 surgeries 8 weeks apart. I had my other bunion on the other foot 13 months ago. The reason I had bunions so young is rheumatoid arthritis and hypermobile joints. I happen to live on private wooded acreage with steep long roads and I love walking here although my walk is considered a hike to most. My feet are much better since my surgeries and it wasn't much fun but I'm doing great now! Thanks for the videos and keep them coming!

Very interesting explanations. I had a bunion operated done by a wonderful surgeon. The non invasive method came from the US, but was improved by Spanish surgeons. No pain at all , I followed the instructions given to me after the operation. When I came back after a month for a check up I congratulated the surgeon for the great work. His answer really was astonishing : But Mam it's not only me, it's also you who helped in following my instructions. I need an operation for the second foot. I will do the exercises advised by HT Physio and see if I can fix it myself. The explanations on how to correct a bunion on the screen are fine except that the written part is hiding the pictures of the foot. It's a pity! It would be lovely if a solution could be found. With shoes I also think it's so important to have them stay wide out at the toes. Those Nikes are wide across the ball alright, but then taper in on the toes. In movements when the foot is pressed against the inside edge or into the toe, there will be those outward-bending forces on the big toe that you don't want. I really appreciated the clear explanation & visual location of those particular foot muscles to address.

Love this video! I originally thought the deformed bone was the result of heels, but I realized I only wore wide toed heels, not pointy ones (didn't like the style and my feet were too wide for a pleasing look lol!). A few years ago I began to have issues with my back and started seeing a chiropractor who informed that the left side of my body was weak and while watching your video realized that is the side where the bone protrudes on my foot. He also told me to include the same exercise you suggested (The Clam) to help strengthen my hip. Also, I noticed that my leg does swing inward more.. I never imagined the issues with my hip and weaknesses could cause this issue. I just considered having surgery to correct this issue but now will no longer entertain this option. I am definitely adding your band exercise daily. I have already removed heels (began falling). Thanks again for your generosity!!! Blessings.

I was meant as a child to wear special shoes but of course back in the early sixties the shoes were awful, horrible brown things not the wonderful choice we have today. Over the years I developed terrible bunions and my big toes go under the next toe. I was led to believe I had no arches but a podiatrist told me I did the problem seemed to stem from my ankles. As soon as I stand my ankles push my feet over and my feet pronate. I will try these exercises with interest as I get cramp in my feet due to my toes not being in the correct position. I am 72 years old and I just started developing bunions. I’ve given up walking because my hips hurt and my ankles hurt. So I am going to do these exercises for my hips and ankles and massages and pray it all helps. I have the shoes covered because I’ve never worn high heels and currently I only wear sketchers. I do have a question that I wish you would address: is going barefoot harmful? I am barefoot the majority of my day. I will subscribe to your channel and hope one day you can answer that. Thank you so much for these tips.

I am also 72(M) have foot issues and a lot of arthritis (hands, feet, shoulders especially) and I can tell you from experience that the MORE I work on flexibility and muscle strength the better I feel. "Aging is the aggressive pursuit of comfort." So true!

Thanks Will. This will help although I've already had the surgery. Hopefully the 2nd part will help my grandchild who's legs are often collapsing under them

Thank you for these exercises… & while I agree women’s heels & even flat dress shoes pinch the toes together … my left bunion continued to develop after I stopped working & went to wearing flat & supportive athletic shoes…. So with that I can only surmise that heredity is not doing me any favors. One bunion surgery 10 years ago & im trying to avoid the 2nd (or 3rd ) - I look forward to your info & will start my treatment! Thanks again!

I had a very painful enflamed bunion for a year or two and after a few months of a keto (low carb) diet it completely disappeared. No issues in the past 3 years. I also wear sketchers with a wide toebox. No more cute little pointy shoes, but I am pain free!

I am in my late sixties. Have been suffering from bunion issue for sometime now. Was recommended to go for surgery without proper explanation or information. Luckily I avoided it. Saw your video at the right time. Very well explained and demonstrated. Will definitely follow the exercises. Thank you.

Wow, you make this so understandable, thankyou so much. The clam exercise really opened my eyes as I've had 2 hip replacements on my right hip and could really feel those muscles work.

Thank-you so much! Do you have any before/after patient results using these methods to correct a bunion?
@SeniorLady7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the explanation about the muscles involved in this process. I'm so grateful for the physical therapist who helped me correct my leg (misaligned since birth) that was the cause of the bunion, and while correcting the leg stopped further progress of the bunion, I'm excited to see how these massages & exercises will help improve it further. One additional tip (beyond shoes with large toe boxes) is to make sure your socks also are nice and loose. Once I got good shoes, I realized my socks were constantly pulling my toes together, and wound up buying the next size up - and soft bamboo - which really allows my toes to move freely.
