I have a bike almost the same, Envo D50. It has cadence sensor instead of torque, but can swap it out. It is a mountain bike/commuter. I have made changes, being I am a bike junkie I have a lot of parts. It came with 9 spd Altus, Shimano cassette/ derailleur/ shifter, but it had a Tec Pwr chain, shifted like trash( I am a bike mechanic by trade, so I swapped it for 10spd XT. It had. 48T chainring, and I swapped it out for a 46 T narrow wide, now shift is super crisp and smooth. The fork is 80mm Suntour, but it does ship with a 130 mm travel fork if you order it as a mountain bike. I ordered a new fork for my trail bike, and the current fork on my trail bike will go on the e Ike. It’s a 140mm RS Recon through axle boost. I will need to build a wheel for it, but that’s a night watching a movie while building the wheel.. I unlocked and get 45kph with assist, after assist I have hit almost 60mm, thanks to the big chainring. This is and will always be my commuter, but I want it to be as best I can make it for me.

I am getting this Velotric bike, but might want to install a Fox suspension. Do you think I can install the suspension on the bike? Or are the suspension only for specific bikes?

Just bought one and rode for first time over the weekend. I am 6'1 and I had to put a stem riser on or else you're practically laying over like you are riding a sport bike. I got the large size and the reach is no joke. The handlebars are also ridiculously wide. It feels like you are about to do a pull up bent over. I had to cut and inch off of each side of the handle bar. Luv the bike though!

How would you compare this Summit 1 to the Ride1Up Prodigy XC that you also reviewed? Do you have a preference?

I don't know why people getting angry over marketing claims lol If you are a hill climber, u should look for bike weight, Continuous power & not just peak power , gear ratio and than get a test ride before buying. I have bought this bike, and i have restricted the speed to 20Km , it forces me to paddle hard if i want to go above 20km, hence building some leg strength. To do some hill climb on this bike you need to do some hill climb with normal bike 1st. I do 6-8 grade uphill once or twice a month , and whenever i have used this bike on small uphill , tbis bike was ok, but u need to use leg muscle a lot more. Marketing bulshit aside , If you are looking for an Ebike which handles like an MTB and is quick at corner turns where most ebike sks. This bike is for u. Build quality is really good, and you can update every item u like, as this is a solid frame with options already given to update as u like. All other bikes on the market at this price point are more geared towards upright position city riding. Heck, even my wife, who gets confused with gear shifting of mtbs, is using this bike for 15km daily . Her AVG Heart rate is 150 which shows its good for a workout with option to come back home on battery only. She has done 145 KM at Economy paddle assist 1, on single charge. So battery is also good if u use it for workout. If ur using at paddle assisit 4 or 5 , ur mileage will differ.

No way a hub motor bike can be a decent mountain ebike. For enough torque to handle steep inclines without using gears would require a heavy powerful motor over 1K watts.

@@80sDudesso what do you recommend? A $12k Trek Rail 9? This thing has a price point so obviously some things come up short. This isn’t geared toward a professional rider. Instead of bashing Ebike companies that are geared toward the mass market for being affordable maybe learn to educate yourself with demographics. Folks that will buy this bike will be on pavement 90%.

There multiple videos of people doing it. If this bothers you that much, why don’t you write to them and ask them to change it the way it will sound better to YOU. Why don’t you share with all of us what do you ride? I’m sure you’re one of those bicycle karens.

I would never buy another bike from Velotric. My Summit 1 arrived with a stress crack in the frame. I had to sue them and got my money refunded. They are dishonest.

You didn't really sue them. All your comments on this channel have been bashing Velotric and you also promoted another ebike company who makes bikes that cost a lot more. Your account is only a few months old too. You literally don't have any comments on this channel talking about anything else. You say here that you had a stress crack in the frame of the bike you allegedly received but in another comment on the Nomad 1 video you claim Velotric's motor controllers burn out and that they didn't honor the warranty. Which one is it? If you stopped using the bike because it got a crack in it and you got your refund which means you returned it then when would you have the time to burn out the controller? Both can't be true unless it happened to two different bikes with two different warranties. Your stories don't add up.
