Got my Soltera 2 set up and first ride yesterday. Your review holds true on most points. I have a Regular frame step over and it's sized perfectly for my 5'7" 165 pound frame. The bikes rides great, is nimble and fairly quick for a 350 watt motor. It really does remind me of riding a non-motorized bike and a bonus is the 350 watt motor allows me to get a great workout if I so choose. Brakes are solid and shifting smooth as can be. All in all a fun package for the money. I have only 2 thoughts. I think anyone over 5'7" or maybe 5'8" should get the next larger frame and my advice is to check the measurements you need carefully. And second, in setting the bike to do 25mph, I peddled just as hard as I could on the flat and no way I was getting over 22.4 and that with a very fast cadence. Now I know it's sold as a 20mph bike and there it does well. But the setting to 25mph exists but of no real use. 💯💯All in all though a great bike and I'd buy it again.

One thing I do not like is the integrated brake and bell. I’m sure they do this for handle bar space, but if it breaks do you go out and buy a brake with a bell. Let’s hope the bell does not brake. The battery is a little small I like 50 or more range. Since rarely do you get the quoted range. A second battery will cost you almost $500. I went to the site it look like you will need to buy fenders and the rear rack. This make the price over $1500 and if you buy the 2nd battery you will be near $2,000+. Like you I really like the removable battery. Mechanical brake are fine. I have mechanical and adjust them 1 or 2 times a year with a 5 mm hex wrench, a 2 minute job. The weight being under 50 lbs is good. Multiple sizes is good. I do agree for 5-10 more they could of upgraded the derailleur giving it smoother shifting. Like you I prefer the mid step, wish it was a true step thru. Overall this is a very nice bike to ride on the street/path around town. Will not do well on dirt/gravel roads. Good review.

Glad they updated their Soltera. Also glad they sought UL certification. The industry needs to move in that direction. It’d be great if they all participated in the Call2Recycle battery recycling program to make it easier for users to safely take care of worn or damaged batteries.

They need a option for constant wattage on the cadence version and it would accomplish much of what the torque sensor is doing.

I have the first version of this bike. Decent bike if you're aware of its limitations. What I don't like is the motor engagement lag with their cadence sensor. In comparison the cadence sensor and more fluid motor engagement on my Ride1up Roadster V2 is more natural feeling than my Soltera.

That's probably why they went to a torque sensor

Yes stealthy.. Looks like a huffy or Schwinn from first glance. 😁 Hmm.. Many companies doing the Himiway wood thing 👏👏 Just need a way to keep things from falling out of the big gaps in the basket. Big cup or bottle holder thingy in basket is nice. Good for beer cans maybe. Good news is battery is as cheap as a pack of cigarettes so you can buy 6. Lol.. Just kidding. I like the bike. It's ok as is. Good price. Most bike groups I ride in this would do great .. It's all you need for nice rides 10-20 miles at 10-15 mph

I see you are in Wausau WI. I also live in Wausau and wish we had a shop here that carried this. Would like to see it in person rather than ordering it blind.

I agree - we need an Aventon dealer. I've told Aventon they need to get someone here.
@ToddMickelson-lz5oc7 ай бұрын
Yes they do. The Schofield Weston area would be a good spot as the other area's of Wausau are pretty well covered.

Contacted Aventon and they recommended shops in Marshfield and Wis. Rapids since I don't drive those aren't options either. I guess I'm just twitchy about spending that kind of money without an in person look see.

Is it a standard square taper crankset or is part of it the torque sensor? Can you replace cranks?
@EbikeEscape Жыл бұрын
A Torque sensor is a special bottom bracket. However, the crank connection points on the bottom bracket are just standard square taper ends. So you could change the crank and/or arms with little fuss.

My thoughts. Give it 500 watts and peak 800 watts.. 48 volt 15 ah.

Buy a Pace at that point.
@kevinnashskitchen3517 Жыл бұрын
@@Andorski actually no e bikes should be less than 500 watts
@Andorski Жыл бұрын
@@kevinnashskitchen3517why stop at 500w? 750w hub motors are fairly common and you can easily slap a 1000w bafang mid drive on any mountain bike.

Get a suspension seat post and seat, this is more of a road bike, suspension isn't a big need on streets

lol not true, this is the best bang for buck road e-bike on the market. It’s a proven company with thousands of locations where you can get it repaired or serviced, good quality manufacturing and good tech.
