I Lost my brother in 2010 he was 43. He was my younger brother and my best friend. It still hurts but, you learn to live with it but you never get over it. I have your first book. I can't wait for the second. God bless you take time for healing.

Bereavement is such a strange process. I lost my uncle, who was like my best friend, in 2021 and still have dreams about him being alive and literally saying it was all just a misunderstanding. Then I wake up feeling very confused. Crying as I type this.

My mom has passed 8 years ago. We weren't as close as you and your dad. But still i miss her every day. It is as you say, a scar instead of an open wound. Personally i never recovered 100% from it. I look forward to your book! Did not read book 1 yet, but it's on the planning of 2024 :D. I love love love the cover!

Ahhhh!!! I’m so excited for book 2!! 🎉❤ Also, I appreciate your vulnerability- my mom passed away December 2017 and I still miss her every day. The sting lessened but then things like Mother’s Day or seeing families can bring it all back up. Or, as my life has gone on (graduated college, got married) and she wasn’t there I grieve her all over again. ANYWAY, just wanted you to know there’s something cathartic about hearing others talk about their grief because it makes me feel less alone. I’m excited for 2024 and all the video plans! 💜

Sorry to hear about your father 💔.I lost my mom too in 2021 and although it's gotten easier there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her on some capacity. As horrible and pessimistic as it may seem, the best advice somebody gave me "don't expect it to get better, cause it won't. It will get manageable but it won't get better." I appreciate that advice because it has normalized the sadness I sometimes feel and it also has removed the pressure to get over the loss. I'm glad you are finally going back to the things you are passionate about. I just stared reading your book this week. I'm only 20% in and I'm liking it so far. I'm looking forward seeing where the story goes. 😊

Hey, I just want to say I so so relate. Your channel was a fun safe space for me when I was caring for my mom. I would watch all the book recs with excitement and anticipation. My mom lived with me from April 2022 to this last August when she passed away. She had dementia caused by small strokes and for the last 9 months was fully disabled. And then the grief of losing someone and trying to pick yourself after. I really resonate with the caregiving being your full time and then you have to figure out what to do with yourself and how to move forward with your career and life and… everything. And meanwhile still struggling with grief. This is the first season without and it’s just a lot. ❤ thanks for sharing, excited for your sequel!

I've been watching your videos for the past couple of years. I read extensively and you've helped me find some of my favorite new books and authors (just finished the farseer trilogy and am moving onto liveship traders). I really appreciate how you approach topics and are over all genuine. I bought your first book a while back and am patiently waiting for your sequel then will dive in. Great to hear about the finished draft! Despite all the work ahead, that's an achievement worth celebrating. It's always such a relief to feel the passion and creativity return after times that are more difficult and demanding. I've had to adjust my expectations and release schedule for this year, and likely next year, for health reasons, but even finding sparks amid the gloom can feel so rejuvenating. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your father! Be gentle with yourself. I wanted to offer an idea I got from another BookTuber: she does a pile of possibilities where she picks a series of titles and mood reads through them throughout the month. I do it seasonally and it has eased the pressure of feeling like I need to read everything I put on a TBR especially within a month. Hope you have a great holiday season!

Thats great! Books with maps are so helpful. I hope authors begin adding a few pictures too. I'm a reader that visualizes the places, creatures, etc in the story, and i need just a little artwork to aid in my understanding of what's being described.😊 This is why i unfortunately DNF'D The Art of Prophecy.

Just a side comment: I love listening to you talk about books but you don't always seem very excited about what you've read. I would love for you to have a section for mood reading. I am a flavor reader through and through. I'm not even listening to 'books' right now. I'm binging the Lore podcast because that is what my brain wants. I couldn't do what you and so many BookTubers do and read for their audience. I rarely buy new releases and while I'll add them to my TBR if you guys recommend something I might like, I don't usually get to them for ages. So, new release news isn't always helpful for me personally. However, listening to someone gush about a book just because they loved it, definitely something I enjoy. Just my two cents.

I recently signed up for two library systems for libby (I don't live in either of these counties and you don't have to) and they have a huge Fantasy selection. The countries are Harris County and Broward County. I plan on using these more next year as well as my local library for a wider selection. 😊
