I was thinking of using metallic thread for a fill stitch design. This is an absolutely awesome & informative video. Echidna Sewing is always the 1st video I would turn to for any issues, problems, questions I have. Gary, you are such a wealth of info!

Very informative Gary! I use a longer thread path and an Echidna 8 spool thread stand!!! The threads you cut off can be put between sheets of WSS and sewn over to make pretty fabric!!! Where can I find the thread spool adapter on the Echidna site???
@EchidnaClub8 ай бұрын
@rebwolfe2702 Thank you for your feedback. We do sell the spool adapter but you will need to give us a call on 1800 000 360 to purchase it as we only have it in the showroom.

Very helpful video. Clear and concise. Could you give your input on using metallic thread to quilt a table runner. After watching this video, I think NO. It will have hot dishes, a sundry of plates, bowls et al set upon it, which means it will be washed more often. Also, quilting is intended to stabilize the quilt sandwich. Metallic thread does not seem functionally reliable for this job. Thoughts?
@EchidnaClub Жыл бұрын
@michellegutierrez5664 It is perfectly fine to use as a quilting thread as quilting is not construction of the quilt. The metallic threads will probably not last as long as a pure polyester thread due to the nature of what it is constructed of. You could definitely try it and see if you like the effect.

Hello there. What settings would you recommend for a Luminaire for the top tension? Default is 00. Also, would you recommend a light spray of silicone spray on the metallic thread? It probably wouldn't penetrate the metal, but would it help it any? One more question (of course) - is the Hemingworth embroidery design that you stitched out available to consumers? I made a cover for my hemingworth cabinet to protect from sun/dust and it would be great to have that stitched on the cover. Thanks
@EchidnaClub2 жыл бұрын
Hi @rachels8857, you can loosen it off slightly (try 02), always test how well it stitches. We do recommend a spray of silicon spray - best results are when you spray it and leave it overnight. We don't have the Hemingworth logo as an available purchase unfortunately. Thank you for all your questions and if you need any further help please let us know :)

Great tutorial, what tension would you recommend for Halo 100 please?
@EchidnaClub Жыл бұрын
@janenes2782 there is no set tension for Metallic (you have to test to work this out), we do recommend a lighter top tension and slowing your machine right down, as you would with a domestic machine as it is the same principles to get a good result.

Hi Ferhat, we use the brand Triumph and only use the embroidery needles (which are a ball point). Here is a link to the embroidery needles on our website. www.echidnasewing.com.au/tnc-embroidery-needle

What does flagging look like
@EchidnaClub Жыл бұрын
@milliemacphee9351 When stitching you may hear a popping sound as the needle pulls out of the fabric. You need to check your foot height is not up too high if you are able to adjust it.
