Would love your thoughts. I had been looking at the DPAS2100, then read a few consumer reviews complaining it bogs down or cuts off in thick weeds. I've got a quarter acre lot and the weeds can get 2 or 3 feet tall if not tackled soon enough. I know the DPAS2600 is the safest choice but costs more than I'd like. Been using the Echo PAS225 gas on that lot and it managed to get through most of the weeds at full throttle, but if they became woody and thick, it struggled.

That’s correct, the 2100 isn’t terribly great as a string trimmer. Even on “rabbit” mode it doesn’t cut tall overgrown grass or weeds very well. For a weekly cut maintained yard, it would probably do fine. The 2100 excels as a hedge trimmer imo, I have used it most of this season connected to the mid reach attachment and found it really convenient and does a great job. The 2600 can cut through anything but it is a much more expensive trimmer. Another thing ya might end up having to do is cut down some of the thick / overgrown stuff manually with a scythe or something like that then go over again w a string trimmer or simply cut it more frequently.

@@BigRedServicesLLC Thanks for all the great info! Truth be told, I originally looked at the heavily promoted EGO 56V trimmers (rear motor). Can't imagine the motor is any more powerful than the 2100, but I could be wrong.

We pretty much converted to battery ( trimmers , edgers , hedgers , saws , handheld blowers and sprayers ) So, far its working well for us 🤷 We have been using the Ryobi 18 and 40 volt versions . We also converted to a trailerless setup as well this year 👍

Nice ! Yeah I’ve found it so much more convenient, as well as easier on my body, not having to constantly yank on cords to start. I haven’t used the Ryobi systems, the Makita 40v tools aren’t to bad. I have a DEWALT 20v trimmer but I don’t care for it that much; their hedge trimmer works pretty well though.

How many watt hours is the 5.0 battery? it says 126 on the website but that math doesnt line up should be 280? 5×56v

According to the info on the physical battery pack, it’s 56v max, 5.0 amp hrs, 252 watt hrs. The 2.5 ah battery says 126 watt hrs on the physical pack.

@@tonyslawncareyou’re welcome. It’s a great setup! I prefer the 2.5 ah batteries for the blade edger / string trimmer and hedge trimmer, and the 5.0 ah battery for the blower and 21” mower. The chainsaw haven’t used enough to tell but it seems to do fine w either battery.

I have done the same thing. Gone all out battery. I have the 2600 trimmer. 2600 combination with an edger. Blower. Hedge trimmer. Looking to get the big chainsaw next and a small generator to put in my truck for the chargers.

Impressive! I really like their platform thus far, the price point and product availability were much better than the equivalent Stihl battery system, which unfortunately for me I have the Stihl Kombi system already 🤣 I bought the handheld blower first to see how I’d like it, then the 2100, then the 2600. I may get the chain saw at some point, but as I don’t do a lot of tree work my Dewalt 20v chainsaw is usually more than enough.

Not a bad idea. I used to listen to music but last few seasons I’ve just had regular earphones so I can hear my surroundings and the engine noises of the mowers in particular.

Where do you get those aftermarket handles? I have arthritis all in my back and can’t use a trimmer. Maybe the handle will allow me to use one.

Which string trimmer did you purchase first? Looking to get into the battery platform

I got the handheld blower first actually to see how powerful it was and kinda how long batt would do. I got the 2100 next and then the 2600 most recently. It’s a great option best thing about it imo is the lower initial costs vs Stihl and Husqvarna, and the fact that the tools are sold w a battery and charger they’re separate on the other commercial brands.

Does the 2100 have enough power for everyday trimming
@BigRedServicesLLC
@BigRedServicesLLC Жыл бұрын
@@jarrelloutdoorservices145 it’s ok for weekly yards; for bi-weekly or overgrown properties it’s underpowered. I’d say it’s about equivalent to an SRM-225 or older SRM-210.

@@jarrelloutdoorservices145 you’re welcome. I have been more pleased w the 2100 as an edger it’s got good torque w that blade attachment on there. It’s also shorter so for trimming even w the Darwin it’s a bit weird from what I’m used to with the gas powered units. The 2600 batt trimmer is awesome, right length and power wise it’s equivalent to like an echo 2620 or a Stihl FS-91.
