Thanks so much for watching my channel rickie. I’m afraid our Federal government is going to push us to eliminate gas powered tools. We’re no where near the technology required to do that. It’s sad to see the overreach from our government over the last several years.

That's a powerful unit there Dick. A dozen cuts after a storm to remove hazards is plenty. 15 plus cuts on the smaller wood with 2 bars left is decent also. I would think once a month using and draining the battery would be healthy for the battery also Probably 54 volt platform for other tools also fm Echo. I'd give it 5 stars.👍

it has been a while, I looked a Stihl, one thing I noticed was the batteries had a ''charge cycle'' life span one battery was rated 750 charge cycles, another was 1200 charge cycles, which to most of us translates into longevity,
@firewoodathome2 жыл бұрын
@@benscoles5085 I have a fair amount of experience with li-ion batteries and chargers through other endeavors. Would agree life cycle claims in a controlled setting is accurate. The combination of high amp drain and heat/cold conditions, I kind of doubt that those are real world numbers. Quality cells and battery management systems are key. I'll withhold judgment on saws until field proven. BTW, I love li-ion power 🔋 don't get me wrong. 👍👍

Hello Mr. OGF, I am not sure of what battery is in that saw, as far as amp hours, it is possible for manufacturers to make a 58 volt battery with 1 amp hour, or one that has 5 amp hours capacity, and as you probly already know, that affects how long the saw runs, lower amp/hours are generally much cheaper to buy than higher amp/hours batteries. that is why the big name saws are sold no battery or charger, so you can get what you can afford, or what will serve your needs, Stihl prob has the best chart available for comparison of battery performance verses saw ability .

I am despointed with Stihl and is what I have, but now after see your video maybe I am not so bad after all. I have the Stihl GTA26, 161T, 220C, MSA300 and the Trimmer 135, in regard to this machines I am 100% satisfied with, however feels kind like having a Mustang GT with gas tank in reserve. I not know if this your saw is the top model of ECO and surely is very dificult to judge but seeme to me the Stihl MSA300 is much faster and powerful and the top battery also maybe last little longer. I also have seen some videos in regard to the Huskvarna 540iXT apparently this one even a litle slower than the Stihl MSA300 but their top battery the BLS300 out runs my top Stihl battery the AP500S. In conclusion I think all this top 3 brands, Stihl, Huskvarna and ECO the all and common problem are the batteries. Battery technology is way behind of the machines.

Thanks for watching. You make some very valid points. The Echo was all that was available where I was at the time and it has served me well. If I had a choice I think Stihl would be my choice at this point. I think as battery technology evolves we will see a lot more Jose of battery saws.

@@oldguyfirewood Yes and I hope so. This 3 Stihl saws I have 161T, 220C and MSA300 I am quit confident that I have tested themes beyond manufacturers recommendation so far neither one have failed. So the only issue is the batteries run time. The 161T is not so bad I normally average about 40 minutes cutting time with AP200 battery if the MSA300 with don the same time using the AP500S with be okay but absolutely not.
