@SteveAustin-jp3evКүн бұрын
Im jealous of all your equipment. I just bought a 2019 Ford F150 XL 4x4. I have 3 chainsaws. MS171 , MS250 & MS261 . I do not have a splitter, trailer , skid steer , tractor. Im 64 years old with Asthma and underweight. Im giving it my best shot.
I spit for 30 minutes some times come in and cool off. I wish didn’t have neighbors I spit wood at night. I got questions on your chain grinder. I got Oregon 410 with cam lock vise. The problem is sometimes even tooth your cutting moves when grinding. Do your tooth your cutting move when grinding? 2 question do you wish you went with the hydraulic version? I sharpen ten chains or so a month. Stay cool out there.
@oldguyfirewood4 күн бұрын
My tooth doesn’t move when grinding. You can adjust the tension on the cam lock I believe. I only use the bench grinder when I’ve really rocked a chain so the hydraulic version isn’t worth the extra money to me since I don’t use it that often. I do 90% of my sharpening with a dremel. For years I hand filed but the dremel is quicker and easier.

New to the channel. Great straight up vid. You mentioned upgrading your equipment. You appear to be pushing on some years as am I (63 years young). I would seriously consider a backhoe of some sort. I have a const. grade John Deere 110 TLB that is perfect IMHO. I made a wood splitter attachment for it and boy is that the life. You sit on the backhoe and split + dump directly into the tote for drying (randomly stacked). Not to mention you can pick the log up with the splitter for bucking into rounds. It isn't as fast as a dedicated splitter (1/3 slower I'd say but no added piece of equipment to maintain. Just something to ponder.

@@KZbinr-mc2el thanks for watching, commenting, and hopefully subscribing! I’m 75 and try to work smarter and not harder. Watch some of my videos on my Eastonmade 22-28 with box wedge and attached conveyor. It is a pretty effortless way to produce large amounts of firewood. I have a backhoe for my Kubota tractor, but find the front mounted grapple works better for moving logs. I hope you will check out some of my older videos!

You know, I went back and looked at this video. The special announcement was that a big change was coming to my woodyard and it related to points I made in a previous video (which I referenced). The specific details of this change would be provided in a subsequent video, which it was. Thanks for watching!
