An absolutely outstanding review! I just purchased one and used it for the first time a day ago. It far far exceeded my expectations as I was skeptical b/c my grass is thick. Thick that with my 6 year old self-propelled craftsman 6.5hp mower it was tough to move through some areas without muscling it. Because this is so much lighter than my old gas mower it ran through the entire lawn with ease. Found your video as I was looking for tips or tricks. Seeing how incredibly well it mulched those leaves really impressed me. That in itself will save me a lot of time. Now only if Echo would built a battery operated edger, not talking about one of those single wheel toys. I also purchased the Echo 58V blower, a bit on the heavier side but I use it with a 4amp battery, not sure if that adds any weight. I don't see it replacing my gas Echo back pack blower, the battery blower is great for normal use but when my leaves fall no way would it handle the job with the ease of my gas Echo. Now to replace my Echo gas weed-wacker with the Echo battery version. PS Aside from the Echo mower working so well, I love the design which looks retro not robot. Anyway thanks again for a very informative video.

Mine has been running strong for 3 years now. Had to replace 2 wheels as the bearings rusted out, so make sure you get replacements before warranty runs out. I like the low noise, can listed to ear buds while mowing. edit... I do have to say that my yard, about 7500 sf of grass, takes two full charges med height & not wet. The 7500 sf equates to about a mile of walking so I get my exercise in. For any larger yards, you will have to do in stages,.

Now I like that mower no maintenance . Would have liked to have see underneath , it mulched better than my gas mower. I only mow grass for three months a year and the rest of the time it's under snow. Today is about 30 deg on an American thermometer:) Nice review 👍👍

Great review. I use a rider for ~95% of my one acre yard, but need a push mower to get to the other 5%. That being said, my push mower barely gets warmed up before I'm finished. So a cordless mower would definitely be a plus. Sure would be nice if DeWalt would add one to their 40V line-up, since I already have their trimmer and blower.

Nice mower, I would liked to have seen the blade and how it is attached. My Honda used 2 bolts and my Craftsman uses only 1. They also use different blade shapes =))

Thanks for this video! How would you compare the noise level of this mower, compared to a gas mower?
@FeralSparky5 жыл бұрын
Been doing lawn care for 15 years. If you want your grass to be the thickest and healthiest. The first step is to set your mower to its highest setting. Its very unhealthy for the grass to be cut to such a short length and it increases the risk of disease.

The only thing that's stopping me from getting one of these is that batteries don't last forever. Each batt. is $170 at home depo.
@RealToolReviews8 жыл бұрын
Well...the batteries have a 5yr warranty along with the mower.....so considering the gas & maintenance you will save by mowing weekly, the entire mower pays for itself prior to that.

Mine just started cutting off every 30 seconds or so by itself. Usually when I hit a bump, but sometimes even when just mowing on flat land. It seems like it could be a loose wire from the orange handle that you need to keep pressed down while mowing, or maybe an issue with the orange safety key that also selects the battery? Still trying to figure it out. Has anyone had this issue and/or a solution? Thanks.
@cookiemonster39793 жыл бұрын
Yes I have the same problem . Doesn't happen too often but it's the orange handle that you have to squeeze . Think the plastic handles get to flexible and found obhag eto squeze it abit harder . Also took off that rubber on the top of the handle that way the orange levers when u squeeze them pull back more . That helped alot for me

Managed to pick one up a floor model with the 2 batteries (4ah) for the equivalent of approx. $250 US new at Home Depot. Looks completely new. A no brainer at that price. Any idea if the 5 year consumer warranty covers the batteries or just the motor? Thanks.

I'm not sure if I've just never noticed this before or if its a new accessory, but there's now a side discharge attachment for sale on HomeDepot.com for $24.97: www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-58-Volt-Lawn-Mower-Side-Discharge-Accessory-ALSD-58V/206164562 I've ordered one as that was something I wanted and that the EGO could do vs. the Echo.

Combo the Battery up with an E-Bike.

That would be an interesting experiment. Curious to know what kind of speed could be achieve and how long the battery would run. Naturally rider & bike weight, wheel thickness etc would be a factor.

Can you wash it with hose ?
@RealToolReviews6 жыл бұрын
Yes.....just wait for it to dry fully before putting a battery back in it. I rinse off ALL cordless mowers and have never had an issue. One suggestion though, don’t squirt water into the motor or into the battery compartment, it could cause corrosion on the metal & that would mess it up. Under the deck & on the outside is fine though.

One fully charged battery will not even cut my small 1/8 acre lawn..... I have to recharge the battery before I can finish my small front and back yard. I need to look into buying another battery to make my small lawn job NOT a major project.

I did notice if I allowed my grip to loosen a little and hit a bump it would turn off. The handle safety is sensitive if not holding with a firm grip. At least that was my experience. Hope it helps.

@brenthill55963 жыл бұрын
@@cookiemonster3979 I own both as well. The ECHO 4ah battery over heats when I use it with the blower on turbo and has to cool down for 20 -30 minutes before it will charge. The 2ah battery is a POS. The EGO mulches really well with the new gator style twin blade setup and the batteries are much better than ECHO.
