OLDER PEOPLE WITH FOOT PROBLEMS WILL LOVE THESE SHOES / YOU WILL SEE WHEN YOUR IN YOUR 70'S / THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING
@AndrewFoltsАй бұрын
Yea, I got my mom and dad into barefoot shoes a couple years ago, and they won't wear anything else now. They're both in their 70's so it's been fun seeing them transition.

I hate doing up laces so I think that's a great edition 😍 I like them 🥰

Yea, idk why no brand has thought of it before. Zippers on everything, I say!

Are you not making any more of the “full review” videos with the testing footage?
@AndrewFoltsАй бұрын
I will, but right now I'm just swamped by all the new shoes coming out for fall/winter. Also, my opinion on shoes rarely changes after the first time I wear them, so it seems more valuable to prioritize reviewing a wider range of shoes than spend 2-3x the time editing cinematic reviews, which often end up being less popular than the ones where I just sit down in front of the camera and talk about my experience in one take.

@@AndrewFoltsI'm glad you still include shots of you wearing the shoes, it's helpful to see how they fit and move with your feet

@@robertsoliz6821 second this. the fit and the look is up there in priority for me - even if it's just a few simple shots

Hi, Not judging and not telling you what to eat/wear, but I was wondering if I can challenge you to watch the Dominion documentary? At the very least the parts about cows and sheep, since they are the most relevant for this channel (from 53:00 to 1:17:20).

I totally agree that the treatment of animals, both for apparel and food, is horrendous. That said, when sourced from small scale farms where the animals are both raised with compassion/knowledge and killed instantly in the field (not at a meat factory), I think animal products can be ethical. I'm sure not all the shoes/boots I review conform to that standard, but my primary goal is just to get people moving in the right direction. If I can get a lot of people into a leather barefoot shoe made by a small company (vs toxic Nike's), then it's much more likely that they'll go deeper with organic cotton, ethical factory conditions, etc. If I only made videos about the most expensive/ethical products, my audience would be like 100 people, because the mental "leap" would be too much for most people, ya know?
@mysense7005Ай бұрын
@@AndrewFolts I disagree that killing them in the first place is ethical, but beyond just that, what are those magical farms where animals are raised with love and compassion, and then killed instantly? Do you know any? How do you kill a huge animal like cow instantly? In the documentary I linked, they are using stun guns or electrocuting them to knock them out (because this is considered a humane way of doing things) before slitting their throats. Do any of the leather shoes you show are actually any cheaper than non-leather alternatives? Even shoes like Denver Leather, from Xero, which is supposed to be a more budget friendly, made in China brand, are like 150 dollars. Again, no pressure, and I understand how hard it is to make a living, just wanted to talk about it.

@@mysense7005 Ethical farms are VERY few and far between. I'm talking like 0.00001% or less. Northstar Bison is a good example, tho. The bison are free to roam and eat a 100% grass-fed diet, as they do naturally. When it comes time to harvest an animal, they're shot in the head from a distance, which kills the bison instantly. Much kinder than what happens in nature-starvation, disease, being torn apart by wolves, etc. In terms of lifespan, bison don't think longterm as humans do. Their only concern is food/survival in the present moment, so whether they die at 5, 10, or 20, it makes no difference to them. As for footwear, I do like plant-based options, but leather tends to be much better for cold/wet weather. There's a reason native Americans wore leather moccasins. But also, people are accustomed to buying leather shoes, so I cover leather shoes on my channel. Back to the original point, if I only covered vegan shoes I would have no audience, and hence no ability to move people in a better direction.

CAN YOU GUIDE PEOPLE WHEN IT COMES TO FINDING THE RIGHT SIZE / BECAUSE EVERY COUNTRY IS DIFFERENT WITH SIZING / IN OTHER WORDS IF A PERSON TAKES A 10 1/2 IN USA SIZE DO YOU HAVE TO ORDER A SIZE OR TWO BIGGER ??
@AndrewFoltsАй бұрын
I'm also a 10.5 and the 44 works for me in pretty much every barefoot brand, including Magical. If you plan on wearing thick winter socks, then maybe consider going up a size.

Zippers have no place on shoes. Makes them unusable if they break and are hard to get repaired
@AndrewFoltsАй бұрын
It's not an athletic shoe, so the probability of it breaking before the shoe itself wears out is low. That said, plenty of other barefoot options, if you don't want a zip.
