Gonna throw a carburetor at my PB-200. I tried replacing diaphragm but I just about have a stroke trying to get it to start. I'll be dipped if I can find piston ring for it, so hopefully it isn't compression.

If you pull the muffler you can see the piston. Shiny is good lines are bad.

@@smallengineguys just did compression test. Getting about 30 lbs. Probably rings. Hopefully nothing scored. Ran out of time today.

@@smallengineguys I used a cheat and put 20w-50 down spark plug hole. Held compression long enough to get yard done. She's an old girl that needs some love.

@@gearheadgregwi yeah shes dead. Not worth repair. Time to retire her and get a new one lol

@@smallengineguys meh... I've got an indoor shop and all winter. Something to keep me busy on weekends. Besides, I've got a string trimmer with same engine. Educational experience.

How can you tell it had good compression? I'd hate to buy the carburator kit and be trying to repair something that cannot be repaired.

Take the muffler off and look at the piston. It should be shiny and new lines are bad

I have a old echo pb200 blower.i purchased a carb offline.it has access to both the high and low speed screws.when I attempt to adjust the low speed screw.where it seems it should be set the blower starts smoking like it's running to rich.so then I lean it out some.what I noticed is I'm able to start the blower with no choke.the primer bulb seems to be functioning the way it should.it also will run with the choke on when the engine is hot.what iam doing wrong?thanks

i bought a pb 200 at a flea market that ran rough. I bought a new carb, fuel lines, filter, etc. it starts and runs great for about 10 minutes, then dies. it already had spark arrester and exhaust directing plate removed. I can see that the exhaust filament is red hot at the time it dies. ive already tried so many adjustments to the carb with no change in behavior. what's going on with the thing?

Coil

@@smallengineguys I didn't think that could be a culprit, but I'm going to look into it. Thank you!
