When I make a tank. I dig 2 tile down and put ladders in on the bottom of the tank. Then I replace the bottom ladders with Solid tiles. It makes the sweep commands infinitely easier and gives a gas buffer to reduce temp exchange.

This is going to be such an epic series, I can see this literal hell going on for quite few episodes and then… I hope you find the right way to reward these heroes. Thanks for the content Echo. ‘Super hero pleasure hotel ‘ - loading

Only one space heater is needed to get enough heating to grow thimble reed on Rime, and if inside of an insulated room, it won't need to run much once the room is heated and paired with a temperature sensor. Also, the more effective way to move water around on Rime is to pump it into a metal refinery, make some metal, and then dump the hotter water out where you want it. This way you get more water, metal, and heat.

I like the idea of using a metal refinery!

Oh the freezing water issue.. Many folks say Rime is easy, but on vanilla it was usually Rime or Arboria, where I would lose dupes and/or my mind :D

I have a few tricks up my sleeve, but I agree, it hasn’t been “easy”.

Rime is easier than many maps, because heating is easier than cooling, and because you can get food. Rime is easy for carnivore/locavore on 1000 calorie settings, because of the hexalent and lots of hatches in the base game with extra sandstone biomes. The cold won't matter. Rime doesn't have the can't grow mealwood except in a few small places of Aridio. It doesn't have the scalding issue of Oassise when exploring the map. It doesn't have the magma channel issue of Volcanea. It doesn't have the digging issue of The Badlands. It doesn't have the lack of gold amalgam and clay tiles issues of Arboria and The Badlands. BUT, it does have the "too cold to grow crops" issue unlike Terra. And moving water around like on how it gets moved around on hot maps, well, leads to issues as seen in this video. Rime is easy for industrial production, since one can dump hot fluid pretty much anywhere. It's also easier for obtaining metals, since one can rip open metal volcanoes in the base game and not have a super heated area. Liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen is also probably comparatively easy, since the temperature of naturally occurring oxygen and hyrdogen is colder than usual. Machines overheating is less of a problem on Rime than anywhere else. Overall, I think it's about right where they put Rime in terms of difficult. It's not the easiest overall, but not the hardest, and somewhere in the middle.

Agreed Spoonwood. I can't wait until they bring back more of the difficult map types.

My mistake was bringing in too many people, it's to the point where every waking moment is a desperate scramble to simple survive another day, everything is priority !! Its been many cycles since I wasnt hearing red/yello alert alarm all the rime. Ya my colonys struggling major atm. I'm at the point of considering accidentally leaving the airlock to my sewage cellar locked

Not sure why people put storage into prime livable space. Then you bring back, cold or hot to the storage making the area unlivable. Drop it outside of the good temp areas. I guess if it was hot and you're playing a cold map bring hot make may not be a bad idea. But bring more cold back isn't a good idea anyway you look at it on a cold map. You just add to the problem of things getting too cold.

Excellent point. I am usually very careful when I do it, and its usually only in early game when I know the materials are temperature safe.

Why not put batteries along every wall you insulate? 😊 A bit less effective than the space heater, but still pretty decent. Until you can put a water heater in the big tank and circulate that water at 20°...

I have a sort of radiator idea that I wanted to try similar to what you are suggesting. Batteries are a quick stop gap too though.

Rime doesn't get easy until you get a tepidiser, but that is so effective it removes a lot of the difficulty.
@jemsterr3 жыл бұрын
In fact, I have a tepidiser on my (base game) Rime world underneath my infinite storage to warm up the debris I sweep up from around the map.

The faster you manage to get The water heater building and automate it to keep water at 20c youll be set temp wise.

Why you didn't use insulated tiles on the water storage is odd. It would stop the heat exchange with the tiles (or slow it way down) keeping the water from freezing. All the terrible sandstone is going to do it turn ice cold plus sandstone is weak and will break very easily with a few tons on water pressing against it. If you end up heating the water the insulated tiles would keep the water from cooling right off. Wasting the heat, you are making and power you use to heat it.

I always put thimble reeds in to suck up bathroom water. It uses up the bad water. You get reeds for suits forever with no extra work. It's a win, win. Max play thru is fun. But to have it tied to a not only random 3 dupes from the pod you tie it to even more random picking them is silly. It's hard enough without the added RNG on getting dupes. That doesn't add to the fun. It adds only more terrible RNG. RNG is never fun. No matter how good you are RNG can beat you. If that's your thing great. I don't like RNG telling me I lose even if I've played perfectly up until the RNG wins. You already started with 3 terrible Dupes. Adding even more terrible Dupes doesn't make the play thru more fun. It just adds more terrible RNG. Again, if that's your thing great. Not sure why anyone would like the total luck of RNG telling them whether they win or lose. But whenever.

A lot of viewers like seeing content creators overcoming unique challenges. I thought this would be a fun twist. We abandon the practice several episodes in though.
