I really want to see the Zann Consortium re-Canonized. Their ship and infantry designs are so unique and interesting, and the Canderous Assault Tank and Aggressor-class Star Destroyer would have some awesome screen presence.

As long as they don't include those Ewok suicide-bombers, leave out the weird purple disruptors and "plasma bolts" that are somehow different from normal Turbolaser shots and don't make mass drivers a canonically shield-piercing weapon (as in: why use blasters when you've got mass drivers), I'd totally be in, if only for the other ships and vehicles. Don't know where Zann would fit into the new canon though, the EaW campaign itself was already something of an alternate universe/timeline with the Consortium capturing the Eclipse and all.

@@philippobitz2592 the mass drivers were a common weapon in ages past but they were banned galaxy wide at some point i cant remember when but it was due to the way they caused the death of people they were like disruptors in that they tore apart bodies and were seen as to barbaric they were still made and used by some factions mainly those in the underworld as they were a weapon that could really inspire fear in others

Oh man I love corvettes and frigates. They're just big enough to make people look small but not yet tiny. They're too big to neglect world-building. They're just small enough to be extremely detailed without taking forever. Dunno if it was Spacedock or Doge but someone called them "hero ships"

Arashmickey you know it! All-rounder type Corvettes and frigates are perfect hero ships (I think it is spacedock who says it). Personally I like the slightly smaller size of the corvette as it makes the crew crowd in a little more.

Otto Honkasalo it depends. The tau have more mechs, with each mech built for a specific purpose. A few are good all-rounders (xv-8), but as far as the most advanced/ best I'm gonna put my money with the Eldar, if you can count their titans as mechs. Better speed, manuverabilty, reaction time, and weaponry (before you say anything-plasma and rail technology is pretty cool, and reliable in the hands of the tau, but the Eldar have weapons that can spew out temporary portals to the warp (basically black hole generators) which become standard issue with their larger titans) make the Eldar titans a real threat to deal with. Of course, the tau have range so they don't necessarily need speed or manuverabilty, but even the largest Eldar titan uses only one pilot, and given that most if not all Eldar are psykers, that also adds to the lethal ability of their titans. Of course, if you want to go with balls-out power and ignore all of the above, the imperium has some pretty terrifying titans.

I love using the Crusader Corvette when I attack enemy fleets in Empire at War. Not only do all enemy missile projectiles become ineffective when they start screening for them but a few scattered over your entire fleet can kill any fighter that comes near it. On a few of the Galaxy domination campaigns I used only Crusader class Corvettes as my fleet and no other type of ship. Needless to say I won lol love the video!

I love how even though the Vigil class is a corvette (well, heavy corvette trending towards light cruiser) sized vessel, as soon as you look at it you can immediately tell it's a KDY ship. Built by the same manufacturer as the ISD's.

Ecks, you mentioned for the Marauder and the Raider that they had a fighter carrying capacity, but not for the Vigil which could carry 16 fighters. Some sources state that the Vigil had three double turbolasers and seven light double turbolasers with fast tracking to serve in an anti starfighter role, with a mixed squadron of scout, light bomber, and interceptor fighters, 16 in total.

For me the best is the DP-20 Gunship, is like the Raider Corvette but better, it is not only fast, but also has an excellent armament for a corvette, with 8 dual turbolaser cannons to fight other corvettes and small frigates, 6 quad láser cannons to kill fighter squadrons and 4 concussion missile launchers, this makes it an propper warship for any fleet that wants a ship that can defend itself against other ships while also eliminating enemy fighters, curiously, this ship is also call a frigate, while its even smaller than the CR90 at 120 meters long, still, this is one of the best corvette you can use for an anti-figther role

If I recall right, the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels stated that the had provisions to be upgraded to 12 double-turbolasers with an upgraded power generator for them. The hardpoints were already there and waiting. That's 24 turbolaser cannons on a Corvette-sized ship. That's nuts.

To be honest, i never really saw the reason of corvets/anti-starfighter role ships until i discovered this channel. I thought they we’re too small, too costy and too slow to really do an impact on a star-destroyer scale battle (except of course the hammerhead at battle of Scarif, now that was a tideturn). Even something like the CR-92 A couldn’t really see any use in my mind, even with so many weapons and turbolasers. ”A waste of good captain and men”, or so i thought. Now, watching your videos, i can start to see a point in a good anti starfighter role. Its not about the tideturns, its about the area denial, like for instance, in the battlefront 2 game, a star destroyer cannot move up in the battle because 3 corvets would start harrassing it from behind, so instead it has to sacrifice a buttload of TIE’s to take the 3 small anti starfighters down. Thanks for opening my eyes, Eckhardslatter.

The Vigil reminds me a bit of the old Pursuit-class light cruiser. Must be the gun turrets and the stubbiness. I love the Marauder, an old classic. Bit sceptical if it could actually fit a squadron of fighters in it. Maybe those IRD fighters... Same with Nebulon-B fitting 2 squadrons.

May I ask you to review the Subjugator class assault ship? It is 200 meters long and built by the Sith Empire. It makes for an interesting corvette, that fills and interesting carrier role or planetary assault role, while sacrificing point defense for said carrying capacity.

Special mention should be made of the Carrion Spike, Wilhuff Tarkin's personal ship that's technically classed as a corvette on the Wookie. Essentially a refined version of the Stealth Ship that saw action in the Clone Wars at the Battle of Christophsis, it retained its predecessor's cloaking technology while also significantly improving its performance, maneuverability, and firepower. It's rather telling that only when it was thoroughly obsolete and facing sequel-trilogy era starfighters was it finally destroyed.

I don't know why but i keep thinking, the CR90/90A NEEDS something like large Capitol scale torpedo launchers mounted in below the bridge. I can see it making runs on much larger ships as part of a task group and several of them firing these heavy torpedo's which streek out much like "destroyer scale" torpedo's in ww2 slaming into the side of a star destroyer.

For whatever reason it's classified as a light frigate, but I can't help loving the C-70 Charger, even if only because I've always loved the Consular-class spaceframe and wished it would be militarised. Though if I could, I'd see a couple of adjustments made to it. That aft light turbolaser could stand to be replaced, I think, either with another dual light laser turret or a set of concussion missile tubes, depending on the role.

YT -1300 GTI A rebel light corvette based around the YT-1300 would be an interesting concept. Include all the speed and maneuverability modifications of the Millennium Falcon, just improve the reliability with a good service. Strip out all the cargo space and amenities and add extra quad guns and shields and a large compliment of concussion missiles. It would make a good hit and run raider that could disguise itself as a civilian freighter to get in close to targets in high traffic areas. Launch a salvo of missiles at heavy targets and annoy the crap out of starfighters with its extreme maneuvering and point defense guns. And outrun anything. It would also work in pitched battles where it would once again destroy enemy fighters and launch concussion missiles at high value targets and could get close enough to make intercepting the missiles very difficult while targeting subsystems. And just be a pest with its zipping around the battlefield doing straffing runs. The advantage of it's civilian design is logistics, getting a bunch of them would be easy for the rebels, who then upgrade it's systems with military components.

I would probably still go with the CR90 - and I'd slap on more firepower (for the anti-starfighter screen, because that's where the CR90 is a bit lacking...but I'd also add some warhead launchers (at least 2 forward and 1 aft!) and maybe a few more turbo-lasers), add a hangar (making it a pocket carrier, like the Night Caller or FarStar) and a docking port for my favourite small ship in Star Wars, the WR-542 Shooting Star (with its own modifications and upgrades, so that it's firepower at least matches that of Bobba Fett's Slave-1) :)

Love the marauder and raider corvettes. Maybe top five ships you’d use if you were a bounty hunter? Would corvettes be to large for a bounty hunter? Maybe include the star fighter you’d use as a bounty hunter too.

BlackShogun 27 Granted ship size doesn’t matter too much for a bounty hunter , as long as there is space for a few cells, has plenty of weapons and enough speed and maneuverability anything should work. Though if they were part of a team they’d need a larger vessel to accommodate them.

The two ships up top on the right are Corellian DP-20 gunships (aka 'frigates' per Old Republic navy) The one below is a Gallofree Yards' Nova-class transport.
