The biggest problem with Separatists is that it is three different groups that are rolled up into one. Their is Separatists Council (which where a shadow government the mega corps., politician, a conspirators that worked for Sidious directly), the Separatist Alliance (being both the CIS and other independent allies try to separate from the republic), and CIS Parliament (which was the official democratic government)

RaPtorteAm You're wrong, imperial leadership was corrupt and lack the stability the Rebellion had. Many imperial officers were incompetent and were unworthy of there positions. I like the leadership of Thrawn's confederation better because they weren't as overwhelmed with there power as much as the Empire were.

Where the CIS falls is entirely dependant on whether they are considered with or without Palpatine. If without, the rank much higher, as it can be assumed their upper leadership would strive for success. Even with him, all leadership (minus Dooku, but all the way up to Grievous) fully intended to win for most of the war.

Oh fuck no. The entire thing was the actually honest if unimportant and misguided politicians being munipulated by corporate interest. The entire thing was even more corrupt than the republic. The only reason why it worked as well as it did was because it was united in defeating the republic and was economically very strong.

As much as I love the CIS, my favorite faction followed closely by the Rebellion/New Republic. It had its flaws. Namely placing far too much power in the Sep Council, which was controlled by Corrupt Businesses and the head of state being Dooku across the board. Meaning that any meaningful effort by the Sep Senate was for naught. Sadly because the CIS was almost guaranteed to fail due to power beyond it's control it's anyone's guess how they would fare in the event of success in the clone wars.

They probably would have forced the republic to surender, possibly force the senate to disband and would become the major galactic power around. Then the CIS would have centralised all it's power in the council all the while Sedious would have would work to become even more infuencial in it. Unltimately I imagine either it would become similar the the galactic empire but with more of a focus on corporate power rather than militar repression and hopefully less xenophobia or it would collapse under the weight of it's own corruption and possibly further machinations by Sedious paving the way for his next project for galactic dominion. Really I never got while it would mater to Sedious wether or not the CIS or the Republic won the war. He's still in a position of power anyway. The only things that should mater to him is that the war dragged long enough that he did amass that much power and that he wasn't exposed as playing both sides until then.

In the case of the CIS at least, even if it were placeholder hold governments it still had to maintain a relatively big amount of systems. And they were poor caretaker. It's not unfair to argue that if they were treating civilians much more like how the rebelion did they wouldn't have their movement would have been more unified and stronger.

ta, as for my opinion, let's not forget that it takes 4 venators to start bringing down a lucrehulk battleship's sheilds. true this is only clone wars tech, but a lucrehulk battleship's shielding was considered elite by clone wars standards. as for starfighters, if we're looking at the end of the clone wars, the battleship will also be equipped with tri-fighters (and we all know how devastating those are), hyena bombers, droid gunships, and advanced droid bombers. this will probably be enough to win a fight with a resurgent. regarding firepower, the resurgent does best the lucrehulk by a fair margin, so in a straight up firefight, a resurgent would need to finish the fight as soon as possible, which might take some time considering the lucrehulk's shields. otherwise the lucrehulk's fighter capacity is going to wear it down and eventually crush it. so i'd probably set my bets on a lucrehulk, as long as it's commander isn't stupid and charge in headfirst.

lancer737 The ECM system is definitely a key factor in this battle and since the AA Wraith’s fuel rod cannons rely on magnetic guidance and containment if the ECM could jam the guidance system it may stop the fuel rod cannon rounds from going far but to take out the AA wraith the AT-AA would need to be equiped with the 36 concussion missile load out since the Flak battery would be ineffective

It's probably been suggested. But I really would love a video focusing on which faction has the best Military Commanders! Specifically I would like to see how you would rank the Naval commanders, but a video for Naval leadership and one for Army leadership would be even better. I'm curious to know who you, and most others, believe have the best Admirals and the best Generals. Also, if possible, I would be stoked to see a ranking of each faction by the skill of its starfighter pilots.

I'll have to disagree here as the CIS in its name itself (Confederation of Independent Systems) most of these systems used to be apart of the republic and saw how some of there systems weren't being either protected or given enough resources. Would you blame them for leaving a government that doesn't really care? Also you said it yourself civil war was imminent thus contradicting your own point. I would agree they ended up taking radical positions but that was no thanks to the Sith and there influence. Which does lower the bar for them. However it doesn't detract the arguments the CIS has for doing what they do. I find that they needed better leadership as you mentioned before.

I’ll expand further: Empire: Auth Right, literally a fascist government. Republic Between Auth left/auth right, before was mainly between auth/libertarian left, but in the clone wars era they switched from that to being auth left & right. Just depends on the politicians CIS: Between libertarian right/left. Council and HoS were corrupt, but senate was mostly well intentioned. RA: Libertarian left, yea basically, mon mothma could be between libertarian and auth left but that’s just my opinion.

Matze Lvithn. Curious. Fascism has left wing roots. Facism....communism. Two heads on the same coin. So, the Empire was a combo of Stalinism and national socialism. The Republic was not authoritarian. It had smaller, more efficient constitutional government (before Sith influence). The CIS was an artificial construct from the start. Hard to define them. More like the American confederacy...but only in certain ways. The Rebel Alliance weren't libertarian...not left or right. They were trying to re-establish a constitutional republic with democratic ideals.

I frown at the CIS leaders, they were too ambitious, had tunnel vision, pretty selfish, and pretty mismanaged. They were pretty sound in terms of military, it's like the CIS literally represents what a droid is expected to be: Physically well equipped, but not very smart and (like a droid's programming) easy to manipulate. It really fits that they depended quite a bit on droids. If I were to be in Nute Gunray's position, I would pull most of my wealth into creating and more importantly improving designs for droids, ships, vehicles, and programming. I would convince the council to do the same, and while even in that position I wouldn't know Dooku was just someone setting us up to die, I'd still put a few back ups in place. The CIS leaders aren't smart, but they are wealthy how else could they afford that many droids. If they wanted to REALLY win then they have to sacrifice every luxury they have and only save themselves enough to be stable and build right back up after the war. Because if you lose the war, not only are most of your luxuries gone, but so is your life (both figuratively and in some cases literally) at least after the war there will be an opportunity to get it all back later and not to mention more. What would you guies do?
