It doesn't really matter how long it takes to be awaken. Somewhere else Eckhart said that mankind has been slept/mind-conditioned for thousands of years, and that it's awesome that some individuals are aware of that and start an awakening journey. Some of it of our own doing and some by other people and events which we have no control over. Your own perception of events , people , places and labeling of them is paramount here. I used to love this quote, but then later it seems to me, it really Is judgmental and talks smack about people in the last two categories versus viewing them with loving kindness and understanding at their unconsciousness. Just sayin'... .

Sometimes when i have over thought something, it was legitimate. What i was being told didn't make sense. By overthinking it, I realized why i felt that way, if i was reasonable and solved the issue. All overthinking isn't bad. Sometimes action and thinking are needed or we'd accept anything as oh let it be. Nope, some things should not have a let it be attitude.

I believe that life is like that, with risks, dangers, challenges and also with pleasant moments, with triumphs and also with misfortunes. Through infinite time, the beings of our planet have developed the ability to think, but now our species needs to evolve to continue existing, this is how life seems to be, life without beginning or end, the greatest of mysteries. But the important thing is that each one of the living beings manages to spend the time that we inhabit the earth, with peace, tranquility, well-being and joy, through evolving to the next step, which is enlightenment. As soon as enlightenment arrives, we can start by stopping the negative thoughts that the mind produces by being in the Now.
