I wake up most days with Chronic Pain and pressure in my shoulders, back, head, eyes etc. Hard to wake up and remain in a good mood like this. Docs and therapies have been useless, so I do what I can. Canabis helps life be more bare able and ease the symptoms but it’s still not easy. May all beings be released from suffering and out of pain. Health truly Is wealth.

Yes.Pain made me realize how much stronger I am. From broken feet military as infantry soldier to chronic back and shoulder since 2010. Use to pay attention to it now won't let it control me. I even go to the gym still as I was prior. Won't let it stop me. I believe our bodies have ability to heal but one has to visualize new you and believe it and feel the heald you. Its a daily way of thinking for some time.

Mr. Tolle is amazing. I did Engineering work all my life. I noticed a long time ago that my most creative ideas came to me in those moments when I had very few and intermittent thoughts. But, in those moments, I was very much in the Present. IMO, I believe my most unique ideas came to me from some place outside my mind but from a place that a mind seems to be able to access without the conciousness being aware of it. I'm now 69 years old and retired from engineering. But, one of my hobbies in retirement is theoretical physics. I find myself continuing to be creative and seemingly continuing to be able to tap into more which seems to be obviously beyond my conscious thoughts. Life is so good. I just love it.

I think what Eckhart invites us to do is to identify with silence. He invites us to flee from our pain, our lived experience, our relationships, our "lives". To deny vulnerability, pain, neglect and abuse as "stories we tell ourselves" seems callous and unsympathetic. Sure, temporary relief is found in the present moment, like when seeing something truly beautiful. But temporary relief is also gained in self harm and stuffing ones face with Ice Cream or doing some extreme sport maneuver. It pulls you into the present for a short while, but never away completely from the pain. The pain that comes from the wound we all share. The wound I believe we have to heal, and I don't believe the healing will come about through disassociation from it. I believe you have to go through it. Go through the pain to heal the wound in a constructive way. Love it shut. To treat all wounded parts of yourself with care and attention. No more shying away from the cries of your wounds. Own them and bear the burden. Do what you must. Don't ever let anyone tell you that your pain isn't real, or that your wound is not worth caring about. If you are someone who have been hurt, please treat yourself with loving kindness, because you deserve to be here. Peace and blessings upon you.

I like your comment. Life is often traumatic, it isn't unusual for someone to be hurt it is par for the course here. I think Eckhart is saying it is not helpful to think all the time about how you suffered in the past, all the bad things that happened, because that only makes the present moment unpleasant too as the thoughts are unpleasant. It can become a bad habit.

He's 59 & dealing with lots of mental health challenges, possible CTE & a TBI that put him in a coma for 8 days. Unfortunately, I had to get a TPO since he's 6'6, over 300 pounds, and showing violent behavior, constantly talking about harming others. He's aggressive. With dogs it seems like even more than just the cessation of thinking. I don't know because I can stop thinking for a few moments when meditating but it doesn't cause the bliss that contact with dogs does. Living with a dog is like like being in love all the time. For years. For as long as they live. Without the human dimension that part between interactions is missing but every time you interact with the dog you have moments of bliss. So its like the dogs joyful loving state causes that same state in you. Or in me anyway. Of course I am uplifted by contact with any dog but it's more intense with my own dogs. Anyway, Eckhart explained it many years ago in his books and the animal book Guardians really explained it and also helps give some peace with their agonizing losses. 😇🙏

I would say my existence belongs to that which can't be understood. I used to silence the mind by running long distances. This worked for me. I am sharing. Therefore, this is unselfish and unegoic. Because I am human, there will be mistakes(unavoidable). Sometimes, when the guidance to go into adversity arises, I baulk. But by only going through it, can faith within begin and by knowing what is ALL around will help, sometimes even protect, strengthens it. You see, i made a covenant with creation, and I truly love and wish to protect it at ALL costs. If this chooses me, I offer no resistance and, where required, no mercy will be shown to those who wish to harm it. Merry Xmas Eckart love and peace!

What Eckhart says is true with a caveat. people have needs. if the needs are unfulfilled, people are unhappy. That emotional reaction is normal and biological in nature. Eckhart is not immune to it either - he is still driven by his needs, fulfilling them and feeling happy as a result. The fact that he is speaking to the audience, that he is eating, that he is publishing - actually all his activity as a human being is governed by his drive to fulfil his needs. Without needs and the link between them and emotional wellbeing all human activity would stop. I would even say that it makes us alive. Nobody can escape this principle. However - and now comes the interesting part - we can be unhappy due to perspectives / stories that we have created about the world and ourselves - and these CAN be changed. Suffering caused by these CAN be alleviated.
@oceanwave414223 күн бұрын
To be happy is most likely to be unaware, you must be in denial that this is a polluted realm. To be unhappy makes more sense if we are as honest as possible. But that wouldn’t sell any books
