Eckhart Tolle on Realizing Yourself As Consciousness

Tom Hanks in Castaway. A good movie and a perfect example of the human mind when it's lost in a sea of conceptual thought forms. For it goes to show that the conceptual mind will argue with everything including itself. We can always avoid people if we do not like them or want to argue with them but the one thing we can never run away from or avoid is our selfs. So no matter where we go, we still got to live with our self. Therefore, the only way to be at total peace with ones self is to know thy self beyond forms and concepts. Thanks Eckhart.

Very true Stephen, get to know what the mind is, what it does and why it does it and we are half way there, truly know and truly accept we are not our minds or responsible for anything our minds come with and we are 95% there. As someone so very wisely once wrote in the comments section of this channel, " they are not your thoughts, they are not even really about you". Knowing and truly accepting what neither we or our minds can possibly know at this moment in time is probably the greatest wisdom there is to know 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi John, good to see you mate. As you know I've been having bother with my teeth of late, but because of Eckharts wisdom, I was able to keep my mind from complaining about the pain and making it worse for myself. I've been just sitting with it and accepting it for what it is and it made it easier to bare. I've got an appointment tomorrow and looking forward to getting it sorted.🙏

Tooth ache is a very strong test of mind over matter and I am in awe of anyone who can pass this test by overcoming the physical pain of tooth ache through the mental strength of not thinking about it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@johngreen4683 Thanks John, no, I didn't use clove oil, I just used nurofen to ease it at bedtime to get some sleep. Pain is definitely a test for all of us and it's the worst thing in life I guess. The mind is a fairly easy thing to control but physical ailment not so much. Many humans suffer in life and my heart goes out to them. I wish you and yours good health and happiness.🙏

Pause for a moment, look inside and see that there is awareness - but not with the mind! Noticing that there is awareness is being aware of awareness. Stay with it and a smile will appear on your face!

I respect Eckhart Tolle a lot! However, in Oprah's Bookclub (Your Life's Purpose) here on KZbin, Oprah said that Eckhart Tolle is now a person without an ego and Eckhart Tolle agreed, as far as I know. I just don't think it's correct. Nobody is without an ego, is my guess, not even Eckhart Tolle:)

While I love Mr. Tolle and his teachings, I am disappointed in the fact that membership of $6.99/month is required to access it. I understand everyone needs to make a living, but capitalizing spirituality negates its value. Michael Singer has hours and hours of 1-hour talks that he gives away freely.
