In my view, according to the amended constitution of 2016, which was assented to on January 15, 2016 ecl has no term of office accrued to him. And, as such, he is eligible., The amendments absolves him from it as Zambia started on a new slate of 2016, unless, one wants to apply this law retrospectively.

The judgement was not justified because the legibility was only applying to 2021 and not in future elections, where in the Constitution is it saying not eligible even for future elections, you can't bar someone even for future elections, takaba ifyaso, look at America, Ghana, Trump is a former president just as Mahama was former president, so where's the provisions of the Constitution that says he is not supposed to stand even in future elections.
