@thisisme548710 ай бұрын
@@luciusrex What's the connection between the educated mind in this quote and being full of regrets?
@luciusrex10 ай бұрын
@@thisisme5487 if an educated mind is defined by its capacity to entertain thoughts without necessarily accepting them, this openness might lead to a deeper awareness of the complexities and nuances in various situations/consequences. this heightened awareness could potentially result in a sense of regret, as the individual recognizes the consequences of different choices or perspectives - and therefore not do it. one way this might happen is when later in life these perspectives change (as they often do) and regret sets in - i shouldve done it when i had the chance
@thisisme548710 ай бұрын
@luciusrex If you entertain ideas or thoughts without accepting them, generally, that would mean there's no influence or change in your perception or behavior, just an expansion of ideas and possibilities. I think regrets come from a place of wishing things had been done differently. It would seem that the only regrets that would come from entertaining ideas without accepting them would be if some of them were so unacceptable that you regret entertaining them. But I see what you're saying. I just feel differently
@thisisme548710 ай бұрын
@luciusrex Although on the contrary, entertaining some of the more unacceptable ideas has helped me broaden my view and have a perspective that helps me come to term with many difficult things. Including regrets.

@PaperMoshe4 жыл бұрын
Comments like this one illustrate why being a server is such a stressful job. Every customer is different, yet most of them expect their server to somehow know what their preferred dining experience is. As an example, let's say that a server gets three new tables: the first table is two people who haven't seen each other in a long time, the second table is two business associates on their lunch break, and the third table is two friends who looked at Yelp before coming in and already decided what they want. Obviously no server is capable of staring at each table in their section to see if they've looked at the menu, so after the average amount of time it takes most customers to decide what they want the server notices that the Old Friend's menus are placed down on the table and assumes that they're ready to order, but the server gets reprimanded for not knowing that they intend to talk for 20 minutes before even looking at the menu. The server then approaches the Business Lunch table and their menu is also down on the table, so the server asks for their order but they're still talking business and get upset for being interrupted. The server then sees that the Yelp table hasn't even touched their menu, and after experiencing hostility from the other two tables the server decides to wait to take their order, but the third table knew what they wanted before walking in and for some reason didn't give him/her their food order at the same time as they ordered drinks. Obviously the server has more than three tables to deal with so they focus on tables that have immediate needs. While they're away the Business Lunch table notices how little time they have left in their break and quickly decide on getting the first thing that looks good in order to save time. Now that they realize that they're in a rush in seems like ages since they scolded the server for originally trying to get their order, so they get up and complain to the manager. The third table has already left because writing a sassy Yelp review is more rewarding than having to acknowledge that their unorthodox behavior was confusing. So at the end of the day the Yelp table got pissed for never picking up the menu and assuming the server can read minds, the Business Lunch Table got pissed for assuming that when you tell someone to go away they'll be able to read your mind and come back with exactly enough time for you to get back to work, and the Old Friend's table ended up sitting there sipping on an iced tea for an hour after you were supposed to get off work. You know what the problem with the service industry is? It's you. Not the specific "you", the general "you". If everyone in the world was the "specific you" then every server in the world would know exactly what the customer wants (or doesn't want) exactly when they wanted it. But each one of "you" is different, and each one of "you" gets upset when the server doesn't correctly assume what your preferred dining experience is. Believe it or not, some customers get upset when you don't interrupt their conversation, "Where is the goddamn waiter/waitress?!" and some do, "Can't you see we're having a conversation here?!" I'm sure the "specific you" has an opinion as to which of those customers is wrong, but it doesn't matter, because the customer is always right... and the customer is always different.

Personally if a girl that I've recently just met brings up a contract/request like that during our first date, I'd feel uncomfortable, confused, possibly offended and likely just walk out. Not against the kink, but that sort of request requires an Extraordinary amount of trust. I mean, for any kink and fantasy, both parties must benefit from it. If neither does, then it's not worth doing it. Even men have their limits on their kinks too. Usually I'm up for anything to try out, but this is not something to joke or play around with for me. Like I've said, not against the kink. Whatever floats peoples boats. Just against the ignorance and lack of thought behind it. This is just my personal thoughts. Not being factual or anything. So basically guys, be careful who you trust. Extraordinarily careful~

A few things. Firstly, such a wonderfully crafted Short. Hats off to the actors and staging. Secondly, I believe it wrong to instigate such behaviour with a fellow stranger especially in such a setting/first date. The contract implies he is free to do whatever; but, with society now as backwards as ever, mere pieces of paper would not allow him off the hook if she suddenly decides to take matters into her own hands. It would be an outrage if the roles were in reversal; she would naturally be freaked and possibly more than likely walk out and report him. But, such fantasies do exist I can only imagine. Would potentially trying such fantasies with someone you respected/loved be a criminal act for anybody whom wholly wishes to pursue it? Perhaps not.
@DakonBlackblade26 жыл бұрын
I believe acting out a fantasy like this is not a crime because the fact two parties are agreeing to do it means they consent, its very clear cut, as long as both sides respect the limitations each other set up its OK. I mean there are even man who sign up to be dominated and humiliated by women (or other men), the whole sketch here is more about the guy's moral dilema than the act itself imo, its a great short.
@Archaon276 жыл бұрын
The problem lies in the courts focusing more on consequence instead of intent in this day and age. It doesn't seem to matter if you didn't intend for something to happen, only that the consequences are perhaps physical/mental damage were that to happen and she were to pursue him in the courts.

I found Omeleto by chance and have spent the evening watching various episodes. I have to say kudos to you, as this is very thought provoking and I find myself totally engrossed. Clever writing and excellent acting. It really reminds me of Black Mirror, but I prefer your storylines as you really utilize every minute of each episode.

I'm 4 minutes in and I'm cringing because someone has to introduce that woman to the kink community. This sort of play is not that unheard of, but it requires trust, connection and clear communication. They would basically want to get more connected and build up a bit more slowly. Also, establish a clear safeword, and make sure both participants are comfortable using it if they have to, without feeling pressured to continue to please their partner.

Yes, but the thrill was in doing it with a total stranger.

That's what my thought was, she may have the idea that a stranger is more xciting but the contact proves she wants some trust! I would have been way to worried about a trick or another person mentioned organ harvesting. I'd want few dates at least first we to see if you are compatible, then fantasies can come out, not difficult to role play a stranger and go into what she's asking as long as both trust each other. Hopefully people agree and I'm not a deviant myself?

@@jameshunter4386 Yeah no I get you. And being a guy myself I'd be sus even AFTER knowing her for a while. But something like this? First date? Second date? ... Pre marriage at that? Hell no. It's way too easy to draft a contract like that then say "oh but I decided I didn't like it halfway through" and now you've got the offender's register for life. Ain't worth the risk, chief. Ain't, Worth. the risk. Moral dilemmas aside, even. Then again I might be a whole ton more vanilla than most folk, but in times like these I'd wager it's better safe than sorry.

This is a subtle and nuanced but genius moral dilemma. Perfect for a "What Would You Do?", if you ask me.
