We have been fulltime in our new rig for about 2 months now with our new solar setup. We have got 2,000w of solar and our EcoFlow DELTA Pro powering our entire 41ft Grand Design Momentum 5th wheel.
We work remotely inside the camper, and have had no issues so far with the system and have been able to run 2 AC's.
EcoFlow DELTA Pro - shorturl.at/qOPV5
200w Solar Panels - shorturl.at/jpBP0
We used to have a 3,000w Victron Inverter setup which was around $15,000 and we wanted a DIY system that was also portable incase we ended up selling the unit down the road. This was our best solution, and while its not 100% perfect, we are more than happy with the system we have in place!

Nice setup! To fix the manual cable plugging in and travel day charging problems, you can modify your automatic transfer switch (ATS) or get a different one to connect the ecoflow directly internally by modifying a 50 amp cable from the ecoflow. first, disconnect the wires coming from then onan generator inside the ATS. Strip the end of the 50 amp cable coming from the ecoflow and connect it to the generator terminals inside the ATS. I did a similar job in my 30amp RV that did not come with an ATS or generator. I cut the shore power cable that runs to the breaker panel very close to the exterior plug and installed an ATS inline between the shore power plug and the breaker panel, connected a short modified shore power cable to ATS and connected the original power cable to the panel connection inside the ATS and then connected the ecoflow cable to the generator input of the ATS. Before this I could only run the ecoflow cable outside into the shore plug when not travelling like you did. I also have 1000 watts of solar on the roof and the ecoflow smart generator, which you could use to replace your onan. Then you could put the ecoflow, an extra battery or two and the generator where the ONan used to be or use both bays. Good luck

I had looked into that or something of that nature to have it hardwired in, but after using it now for 3-4 months fulltime I have just gotten used to it. We dont run the generator much since we have 2,000w of solar. My only wish is that I could have the Ecoflow powering the RV on travel days without lugging out the 50amp power cord, but its not the end of the world!

This is a very interesting system I have a toy hauler with a generator. I like this because I'm not full time and I could use this at home as part of a hurricane setup.

Okay so I just bought my first ever motorhome this summer. I am a single mom with a 12 year old son. I just bought the eco flow pro 2 and 1 backup battery and am just going to try it for the first time tomorrow! I am using it mainly to power while on the road so kids can use more power without generator as I only have 1,000 watts of portable solar panels and nothing on the roof yet. I am excited to watch this so thank you for posting!

Thank You for showing how the DP connects to the RV and the challenges your having. Also your solar panel array setup. I'm very familiar with solar and own two DPs for home so videos like yours helps me to decide how I'm going to integrate one of the DPs into my Class C RV.

I have a delta pro and extra battery in my 30a motorhome. It has a built in generator. I removed the generator from the transfer switch and wired in a 30a cord to go to the delta pro. Then i wired a cord from the generator that can just be plugged into the shore power inlet. I run the generator only on days the solar cant keep up like cloudy days so no big deal to have to physically have to plug that in just like its a shore power source. But now i can travel down the road with full power from the delta pro. Have full power and starlink internet at 65mph going down the road.

Great review James, I also run our trailer on Delta pro with the extra battery. I'm in a 30 amp trailer so didn't have an existing transfer switch, I added one behind my Power center and keep my shore cord line the primary feed to RV. DP is on secondary feed. My 1600 watts of solar charge the DP. When no voltage is on the primary side from a generator or campground AC, DP takes over and I just turn on it's AC outlet via app or remote panel in RV. Or you could tell DP to never turn off AC and it would always run inverter at idle consumption. I believe you would just need another auto transfer switch after the current one and wired properly to make it fully automatic.

Thanks I appreciate it, I just switched my DP to never turn AC off, so next time I run the generator ill test that and see if it works.

You said maybe the only thing to fix it's extra battery . If i could tell something else to up date , you should install a slow kick start unit in your AC . This will make you save a lot of power .

To help solve the problem with the physically restarting your ecoflow when switching back off the generator, you should get the remote monitor. It allows you to turn it off and on via the remote monitor. I did a class c drivable RV with solar and ecoflow. It comes in handy when you have it placed in a hidden space.

I have been debating on getting that, would still lose power for a split second so wouldn't solve the issue, but make it more convenient

Finally someone doing the same type of set up. It goes into a ground fault shut off when the gen shuts off. It is trying to charge it self. I even tried an additional inverter to only charge the Eco flow when gen is running. Still ran into the same issue. I have my eco flow plus an addition battery in the basement storage. I am able to run a cord right to the outlet in wetbay. I run a Bluetooth 100v outlet. So when the men shuts down i turn the outlet off. and vice versa. I have a cord with a 30 amp plug and a 20 amp going to a 50 amp. I can run 3 acs at one time. pretty crazy. I looked into the hardwiring in with another transfer switch but I think it gets a little crazy. I have Eco flow solar panels but I'm currently running issues with them.

I was happy to see this setup! I've got a tiny house and been trying to power it with a Delta 2 and Extra Battery with their solar panels. I'm realizing I probably should have purchased the Delta 2 Max or even the Delta Pro for my power needs, so I'm still trying to figure things out. I see that you are using an extension cord to have the Delta Pro charge to the RV generator. Have you had any issue with that? The manual says my Delta 2 needs to be plugged directly into a wall outlet on the grid to charge, so I'm nervous to run an extension cord to it but thinking it should be fine if I keep the charging speed 500W?

i got one extra battery and i'm really considering buying the other one too. I have 800w of solar on my sprinter van which is the most i could figure out how to mount, and going over a week without having to plug in anywhere would be great.

That's awesome we were debating on a van! 800w is a'lot on a van for sure. If you have the room go for it, if not the van should be able to charge the ecoflow as you drive with alternator charging.

That is the Ecoflow’s problem that it bypasses the power from generator to RV. It can’t charge the battery and supply power to RV at the same time. My power station does not do that.

Hello buddy, I have followed your channel since I moved to FL from South america. There, we dont have hurricanes! Could you recomend me an starter kit to be prepared for the next hurricane season? Should I get a gas 2300w Gen, and then add like a Delta Pro? Or go straight to a 12,000w gas gen? Since you are pro testing this must have a recommendation. I would appreciate it if you can help..

Ecoflow recently came out with a larger version of what I am using. The Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra would probably be your best bet. Twice the battery size, Twice the inverter size, can charge with alot more solar I believe 3000w+

me and my wife are so interested in this system seems so much easier then the other systems but Would you mind helping with the math on the volts and the Amps no matter how I add it up on the panels you linked. Your way over the 150 volt 15 amp limit in both series and parallel. I’m new to this stuff so sorry for rookie questions. Is it just the 12v you consider or the VOC which is 24.3v on the spec sheets of those panels. Also the amps are 9.8 amps which doubled in parallel would be 19.6 amps. Are you just assuming you have 4.6 amps lost? Again thanks very much new at all of this. Cheers!

I’m wondering the same thing. I have three 550 watt panels that have an open circuit voltage of 49.6 volts and 14 amps. If I run them in series I’m not pushing over the 150 at an outside temp of 70 degrees. The problem is when the temperature outside drops the voltage can go up around 160 volts and that may fry my unit according to everything I read. VOC on panels is usually rated based on a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and I failed to realize this when I bought them. Is anyone else just going by VOC or you guys look at the temperature drop also?

we rarely run it, only time we do is if the eco flow is dead and we need to work, so like maybe 20-30 mins? just to get it a good charge

Trying to figure out how to state this - right now between your Onan and the RV you have a transfer switch that kicks on every time you start your generator... couldn't you install another transfer switch directly after the generator's transfer switch with a battery on/off switch... so if you want to use the EcoFlow, you keep the transfer switch from the generator off, you turn on the one you just installed that leads off to the EcoFlow... and you turn the battery switch to on... you want to use the generator, turn the battery switch to off, and then start the generator - it's autoswitch will come on, and the transfer switch installed for the EcoFlow will be still on to pass the electricity into the rig... The other option is you mentioned you have a house battery with an inverter/charger already in place... why not remove that house battery, upgrade your multipass inverter of 2K or 3K performance and done... I think it might be worth a call to EcoFlow, especially since they are wanting into the RV market place... just my thoughts...

Yes essentially to what your saying all I need is some sort of auto transfer switch. I haven't done a whole lot of research yet to fix the issue, but I have seen someone in a FB group for Ecoflow install some sort of auto transfer switch so power is not lost.

Get a second DP, and use a 30amp y split to join the 30 amp outlets, then you double your solar and battery capacity.
@Jamesandmaddie
@Jamesandmaddie 9 ай бұрын
I dont like this method as I would need separate solar arrays and this is not the correct way to use two DP together. The battery for me is a better option, cheaper and charges right from the main EcoFlow and won't need more solar.
