Thank you very much for the video. I have one doubt about what it is referred as “Other Loads” in the App screen. In minute 13:16 the app screen shows the next figures: Solar: 622W Entering into the battery: 191W So, 622-191=431W transferred from the inverter AC output to the house grid. There are 2 smart plugs: One (water heater) is off (measuring 0W) an the other is measuring 110W. I guess the consumption of the 2 smart plugs is 7W, that is why shows 117W sent to the Smart Plugs. Therefore: 431 - 177 = 314W And the app screen correctly shows 314W being used by other loads and 0W from the power grid. I guess this 314W is not the current electricity consumption of the rest of the house (all the appliances except those connected to the two smart plugs). Indeed, I think this total value of 431W represents the total electric power injected by the inverter into the house through the electric plug. If the total house electric consumption exceeds 431W, the remaining power consumption will be provided by the power grid of the electricity supplier. What would happen if the total house electric consumption would be lower than 431W? How the system would prevent from injecting into the power grid this hypothetical surplus?

so why i have to use a microinverter if i can just connect solar panels to my ecoflow and thin use the AC output at the same time . does this affect the battery ???

Question... I'm also in Spain, and have an ecoflow delta which I mainly use for camping. I have considered getting the inverter but have not seen anything as informative as your video about it working in the EU until now. My question is, did you have to do anything to the main fusebox or meter for it to work, or is it really just "plug and play"? Also does it work without the smart plugs? Thanks for the great video, you have a new sub 🍷

It's just straight plug in and play. But you really want to make sure it's not in the sun it will overheat and stop working.

just come across the powerstream. not yet available in Australia I have the delta max 2 with extra battery that i charge from roof solar. I charge during the day and run my office from the ecoflow battery at night also run my fridge at night by switching off the AC to the battery at night that requires an extension cord. Question is it possible to remove the solar connectors from the powerstream and run directly off the battery's? my base power for the rest of the house is about 450w at night would the powerstream eliminate this? and would a wall plug allow me to remove the extension cable and plug back into the 240v

Great review. With a kit Powerstream + Delta 2 Max , is it possible to to get more than 800W of solar (the limit of the powerstream) ? Can we connect 2x400W on the powerstream and additional panels directly to the Delta 2 Max via the XT60 ports ?

No once it's plugged in to the battery that's it for imputs. You would need a second delta 2 Max to charge with more panels.

Really good video, you explained everything. I want to have a set up like you but I do not want to send electricity to the grid. How you can get the grid values to your house? The smart plugs are not powerful enough

Well with this style you have to send it to the home grid and if there is surplus you don't end up using it will go to the grid (And power companies). Luckily for me I have a solar tariff so any access power I do get credited for that goes via the meter back into the grid. I'll have another video coming soon of the Marstek B2500, it's a similar set up with the battery to store the solar power surplus and you use your own micro inverter to put the power back into your house. It's a little different and have it's own pros and cons.

I watched the whole video to understand how do. you connect it to your house and only specific items like your fridge or Tower pc, didn't see that info, could you help out ?

You use the smart plugs for that to apparently use the Delta battery packs stored energy or the solar power allocation first. That's how it works in theory but really I'm not 100% sure l how it can send that power to the plug???

No I said the PowerStream is 800W max the inverter shown and I have the European version of both. Yes the Delta 2 max is 2400 Watts I mentionthis. But the 800W is when i'm talking about the inverters max output.

Is the solar input really 400 watt each. What if you connect some more panels, does it limit the incoming to 2 times 400 watt? You can go over 800 watt as long as the voltage is under what your power station can take. Or in this case the powerstream, so 60 volt.

It really is 400W x 2 inputs. I ahev my 450w Risen panel that on a good day will do just over 400w I never saw the Ecoflows panels going over 330w either.

I have second home in Spain too. Do you know, if it's legal to connect this system to your house without any bureaucracy with Spain (i.e Iberdrola)?

I'm not 100% sure but knowing Spain they won't like this at all. But it is legal yes this style. Where or not you need a permit would be down to your area and town hall. Ive just gone with a full roof installation which did did require a permit and planning permission which was a headache. But this type of DIY system is different.

@timogronroos4642 In Spain you can connect it without any kind of bureaucracy if you fulfill all the next three requirements: (1) Power below 800W (easy to fulfill), (2) you connect it to one of the existing electric plugs of the house (you do not modify the main electric cabinet of the house where the circuit breakers are located) AND (3) you do not inject the possible surplus into the grid (the electric supplier grid) (this requirement is the most difficult and usually requires some kind of zero injection mechanism). If you do not fulfill ALL these 3 requirements you are supposed to legalize the installation with the electric company. If you do not legalize it and connect it anyway (up to your own risk) and you are injecting into the grid only a few times a year for shorter periods of time; probably nothing should happen. But if you are constantly injecting the surplus into the grid, the smart electricity meter of the electricity supply company will trigger an alarm and you will be asked to stop the injection and maybe even be fined for it. On the other hand, if you legalize the system you will be allowed to inject the surplus and be economically compensated by the electric company. For sure this compensation will be within the same month (reduce you monthly electricity bill). But now. some electricity companies in Spain are offering some kind of “virtual battery” that allows to compensate the surplus of one month in other months. For example, the surplus energy produced and injected in April when the house was empty is converted into “money credit” that you can redeem in your August electricity bill when the house if fully occupied. Obviously, the price of the energy “bought” by the utility is going to be lower (around 50%) than the price of the energy “sold” to the consumers.

It seemed to at first when I disconnected it but then later if it started a new day there was no PV input. It stops so clever of them you need the eco-flow battery.

nice. I've been screaming since last year that these power stations should have a way to dump its to energy to your house, the point that you utilize the batteries/device while you are not out actively using the power station. Question though, can you set a time or schedule when to release energy to the grid/house?

Hi, yes it's been a long time overdue. You can't set a time to have it output the power but only limit it from 0-800w. Or get it to charge the battery first then deliver rest to the house once done.

​@@Techtablets thanks. I guess, the power limit is good workaround so that the power station still has juice during peak electricity rates around 7-8PM. Additionally the power limit (houses without net metering) is a good tool so that it doesn't exceed base or lowest consumption of the house, otherwise, the electricity will just flow to your neighbors and you will be charged for it.

Yes it makes since they way they have it set up. The app is great seeing the flow of energy. So at the moment I have it charge the battery first then send back some to the house.

Update - spoke to ecoflow and they said yes you can add more BUT must follow local regulations. I think this is the restrictive part as most countries have a max of 800w input at the plug.

The Delta 2 Max has 2 x xt60 port. Each can handle 500w from a Solar array. Are you saying with Powerstream you can input 400w+400w more via the xt150 port??? Thus the total feed is 1800watts. To load up the Delta 2 Max battery.

Hi, the panels are 400W (Rated max) But I get more like 350W tops best conditions and midday sun etc. As for the smart plugs you can send the 800W in theory but it seems less.

Pay the cost onto your electric bill and get on with your life? I tried this... Capped my 400 watts of solar going to delta 2 max through both xt60i down to 101 pointless watts for some reason. Cables too short. Nothing but a complete flaff. They don't supply in the box the bespoke battery cable!?!?! So when you order this, you can't connect it to your delta 2 max!?! Cannot believe it's an OPTIONAL EXTRA!?! Returned and went back to XT60i x2 getting 400 watts and using the extra battery giving 4 kW storage. Powering TV,cinema amp, led lights, broadband, working from home set up and fridge freezer by running 13 amp cable through wall. Had hopes for this but no, just no. Lovely build quality, useless application in real world useage. Not sure I'm ready for solar, or solar is not ready for me. 😂

Now after a week I've noticed that some days the solar input is rather low maybe the inverter gets overworked. As you say the idea behind it is great but the additional costs of it all hmm seems to suit more a RV or small outhouse type set up.
