Took about 30 minutes to do all of this, had alot of fun with it minus the solder part i hate doing it. I had debated about cutting the tubes to replace with clear aquarium tubing and putting UV coolant inside for a cool visual presentation however the pipes are very well constructed and i would hate to destroy them. Anyhow, worked for me. If your not confident doing it im sure your local handyman will have zero issues doing this. It wasnt hard just follow the directions. Pro tip, use an ice tray to seperate the screws and a magnetized screw bit so you don't have to hold them their small and will fall off very easily.

Nice video. Thank god you left a bit of room for expansion. Would be nice if my radiator had a bleed valve / filler valve like yours. PS you can get a pre mix antifreeze. So you dont have to dilute it yourself.

Good vid, thanks! I'll probably will refurbish mine as well -- sometimes weird noises in pump. One point I'm not sure about -- taking out the coolant in the end. Rubber pipes should take care about pressure difference on heating if that even case on those operating temperatures. Also we spend a lot of time making sure no bubbles and this like for nothing :)

I have this same cooler for around 7 years now. It has become quite noisy with a rattle or clicky like sound when put under load. I suspect the fluid level has dropped over time or there is sediment or something. I already replaced it with a nice air cooler, but now after seeing this I think will attempt to disassemble and refurbish it. It does seem the pump is still functioning. I just couldn't tolerate the noise that happens when the system is put under load like gaming. It is still functional and felt it would be wasteful to get rid of it. Nice video. Thank you.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. One word of caution, it's advised not to use car antifreeze, see jaytwocents. Distilled water is ok to flush with, but for the long term you want coolant which wont react to the copper, or the aluminum, or the various plastics used in the AIO. I'd recommend "XSPC XS-EC6-CL Non Conductive Coolant", found on Amazon. Non-conductive in this sense means if AIO leaks it won't conduct electricity.
@ItaloLeivaSomov Жыл бұрын
Even if you use non-conductive water it will have electrolytes taken from the internal AIO walls through the time...

Bro it's literally a radiator, like you find in cars, so why should i change it? Like it's bigger brother you bleed it sometimes and it's good
@nickrider81510 ай бұрын
@@R3ddyyg because its not the rad that is the concern, it's the pump, and pumps die. And unlike a car, computer pump impellers are made from thinner and more brittle materials. If it fails you risk the CPU cooking. Only takes a second to fry. So yes this works. But there is a much higher chance of failure. Personally, I would just replace the AIO and sell the refurb to someone who doesn't mind the risks.
@R3ddyyg10 ай бұрын
@@nickrider815 Literally check the pump before refilling, if it works you good, water pumps fail on cars too btw
@nickrider81510 ай бұрын
@@R3ddyyg it's not going to fail while you have it open and are looking at it. It will go at point in the future, generally during speed change cycles. But hey if you're happy with the risks you do you. Personally as I said, it's not worth the risk. Costs for coolant, deep cleaning the rad and fans then two hours labour costs me more than the replacement.
@R3ddyyg10 ай бұрын
@@nickrider815 Bro, I had the same aio that the guy in the video shows, it was a bit iffy so I opened it up, after testing the pump I noticed that it didn't go full speed, how can I say that? Speed didn't change from 5v to 12v so I didn't refill it and didn't use it, if it were to work tho. A flush and refill with radiator fluid would keep it good for at least another year, frying isn't possible if you're careful with it, just test it with HWMonitor opened in a second screen, my 3600X reached 95c and pc turned off on its own anyway, so unless you turn it back on I really don't see how you can damage the chip... New cars have air intakes and water pumps made of plastic! They are rather a bit more shitty than the metal old ones but they work if you keep your maintenance up, so a small stupid radiator that doesn't/shouldn't see more than 90 Celsius is gonna be fine until your pump dies. No risks taken imo

Nice vid but, with all due respect, if it comes to a point where it's not working, I'm simply going to go buy another Cooler Master and just replace the one not working. Simple solution without any extensive maintenance like in your vid. :) I'm no technician or PC Builder. I'm just a Gamer who wants to turn on his PC and play games and/or surf the net. That's it. Even if 5 years (minimum 'cause it says it can last up to 10 years) passed and there is no more coolant or whatever, I am not going to waste my time trying to refill it where all sorts of things can go wrong. There is no easy or simple way to refill the Cooler Master aside from the complex demonstration you just made especially involving screws that could easily fall to the floor (and disappear) or fall into the radiator or wherever. If Cooler Master had a more simple way where PC users can just refill it (ie. Here is a hole to put in more liquid, and we don't need to remove the cooler from the PC or disassemble the Cooler itself), then I'd be all for it but there isn't. I mean I have enough to worry about simply by removing the old cooler from the CPU, then putting new thermal paste, and putting on a new cooler onto the CPU (and then re-screwing it). It was not easy for me to do it the first time (just saying).

@Zilog I'm not doing the smart-ass commenting. Much like different power steering fluids there's different mixes inside. Same thing with oil brands. These are brand specific chemical ratings. He's using concentrated BMW coolant.. not cooling fluid. Using this will cause your hoses to eventually corrode, your little rubber seal in the motors to swell and decompose and other adverse issues if it leaks on components. (He's already commented in other replies about how his setup has leak issues when it gets warm.. which isn't normal. At all.) Which signs to me it's already falling apart. Just use pc component fluids so you don't fuck up your stuff. Vehicle components are made of different types of rubber, plastics, etc that PC's don't commonly use.

big facepalm, NEVER use antifreeze from a car for your CPU cooler because It most likely react and break your cooler (why anti freeze, you don't use your pc in freezing cold right?). Internal components are not the same as in a car. Be very careful to let your cooler motor run without liquid because it can overheat and break the motor (it's designed to run with liquid!). If you use tab water to flush, what is not recomanded, always flush after with demineralized water. Some people just should not make how to video's.
