@@kevincampbell5785 Same, this was one of my favorite songs as a kid. And later on in my mid 20's, I actually got to open for them. Kinda crazy thinking back to being a kid in my room listening to this and never even dreaming I'd be a musician and open for them one day, let alone meet them. But somehow that happened. If only kid me knew lol. So now there's like an extra layer of nostalgia for me when I hear their music

These guys sued nickelback for copyright on the song “figured you out.” I’m not seeing any resemblance whatsoever
@cygnus_XI4 жыл бұрын
The similarity is in the main melody of the two choruses. The melodies are definitely similar, but I'm not sure if it's similar enough to have won in court (if I recall correctly I think it settled, I don't know if it went to a jury. Not much info ever came out after the fact. This was almost 10 years ago! Time flies...) The courts suck when it comes to music copyrights. For example, songs Dark Horse and Joyful Noise have even less in common than the Econoline Crush and Nickelback songs do, and the jury found Dark Horse to have infringed on copyright. When it gets to a jury, anything can happen, and it's too easy to confuse jurors on musical theory jargon that they don't understand.
@ryderinblack2 жыл бұрын
I hear it too, I actually heard it on my way home from work, I was surprised to see someone acknowledged it in the comments, it isn't exactly the same but it does have the same mode change and chord progression style, but it isn't exact, what's very similar is Pink's "Try" and George Canyon's "Slow Dance" now those choruses could go up for debate and Pink would likely win
