It is almost hilariously painful that Watts' really highlights how fucking stupid we are with concepts like money. Yet many people believe it to be real.

There is a small minority of people with a large majority of the wealth. If we all worked together, the world population can live in abundance. Greed is the downfall of abundance for the many.

We gave Steve Jobs our money, he gave us iPhones. We wanted iPhones rather than our money. It was a fair trade. Wealth is not only measured in an amount of money, it's also, exactly, the abundance, in this case, the iPhones.

Even health doesn't matter. The illusion of health is that it will last forever. It's like trying to hold onto beauty or trying to prevent a river from flowing. Just realize that the "deterioration" of health is part of the natural process.

I do not, however I know the man before him is Ron Paul and the man after is Ben Bernanke, so perhaps he is associated with an Asian Central bank or a politican critical of central banks.

It's not the things we build that make us worse. We were already wrong when we think about doing something wrong. The same with technology of any kind. In the future, some day, people will look at the wrong things we've done with machines and the nefarious machines we build today and probably take something useful and positive out of it. Maybe by recycling those machine or repurpose them.

+ding dong "anarch capitalism" is like diving naked in the water withouth getting wet... It works only in alternative universe of wich I have no knowledge. In the world I live, states are methods for managing money, they are societal creations similar to how money is a societal creation. Management of money is the purpose of all states. States manage money, they manage all the problems of social dysfunction arising from money, it is all about scarcity. Money is a method for governing social interactions thus logically and inevitably the state is the consequence of social behaviour mediated via the governing nature of money. States will always arise from monetary interactions when monetary interactions become sufficiently complex.

One of two things.. we need to increase the global birth rate..or make a whole lot of people lose what they have in order to force them to rebuild... it is a simple thing..''building wealth'' is ALL based on growth so there is really only these two options (or both)..when you have maxed out on milking the populace and consumer based corporations leveraged to the hilt.. you HAVE to start over and/or grow the population FASTER (which takes a while to come into effect)...the natural thing is to let it collapse and 'start again' this money didn't disappear it went to the super rich and or redirected for geopolitical restructuring (war etc.) . the system will need a reset in order the keep extracting riches from the populace at the expected levels...the concept of money is becoming less tangible and more conceptual in nature unfortunately peoples productivity is directly connected to 'the concept of money' so ones productivity is given away and in return we receive our 'allocated cut' which is always way less than what the productivity is actually worth (unless you are part of the extraction team in which case the reverse is true).. .one thing for certain is there is MORE than enough productivity in the system for all to do very well..issue is the system is so darn good at redistributing and extracting riches with such extremely tight margins that the 'buffer safety zone' is too small to hide the affect of when the extraction levels exceed what the the general productivity can sustain..so there you go..we DO need a collapse for this system to be healthy..don't like it?.. too bad ..the system runs the system now and this is just part of the way it works most efficiently ..not much the rich can do either, EXCEPT give back in order to take it out again as the system requires in order to keep things circulating..this approach managed well could EASILY make the 'safety zone' big enough to be stable, although the extraction levels would stay at a lower rate, allowing the populace to build wealth and perhaps create an 'international economic buffer zone' which would now be sustainable..Unfortunately human greed is not yet ready to be laid to rest, let alone to be effectively organized to manage things in a fair and responsible way.

Non-Sense. There should be no "minimum income". IF there were and I could either work or not work for the same money, than I would choose not work. You would have to be an idiot to work if you could get the same income and not work. I do agree there should be no taxes, though. That would go a long way toward solving our problems.
@ValterStrangelove44199 жыл бұрын
Truth Be Told I'm not even going to address the fact that you're conflating the minimum income with full scale communism. "You can say, "Oh, but it always creates more jobs, there will always be more jobs", Yes! But lots of them will be futile jobs. They will be jobs making every kind of flipperty and unnecessary contraption, and one will also at the same time have to beguile the public into feeling they need and what these things completely unnecessary things that aren't even beautiful." "Now people say, "That's not fair, where's the money going to come from? Who's going to pay for it?" The answer is the machine. The machine pays for it. Because the machine works for the manufacture and for the community." "Now you see that absolutely horrifies most people. They say, "All these wastrels, these people who are out out of a job because they are really lazy.", see, "Give them the money?" Yeah. Because otherwise the machines can't work. It comes to a blockage." ~ Alan Watts (from the video that you apparently didn't watch above your comment^^)
