Our plutocracy is shrinking. Is anyone surprised? I am not. The billionaire and corporate plutocratic donors keep taking more and more off the table here in America. The robber baron donors are not interested in America in the global economy. They just want more and more. They will lead this nation into the cesspool of third world. This is what happens when we allowed the billionaire/corporate own and operate our governments, our economies, our media, and our whole society.

How the country has turned out is exactly as charted 250 years ago; it could not have turned out any differently given our Constitutional framework. Landowners and capitalists had control from day one. There’s no way to right the ship at this point.
@jgalt308
@jgalt308 3 күн бұрын
@@richardbryanesq Actually, the country has turned out exactly the opposite of what was "intended" by the Constitutional framework. The present government is unconstitutional and criminal and has been since 1939 with several critical deviations occurring before that. As for your collective "we," you bought the con that the government could provide you with the "illusion" of safety in exchange for "essential liberty," and now you have neither. So the only thing preventing the righting of the ship is your obvious historical ignorance and the failure to heed the warning that was issued at the onset of the republic. "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action."

@@richardbryanesq You ever hear of the Green Party? What if all of us dropped your defeatist attitude and joined the Green Party. I am at the Green party because it is outside of the plutocracy. There is no way that you can change the Democratic Party. You are a sucker and loser if you believe you can change the Democratic party while they take donor money exactly like the GOP. It is much more likely to change the plutocracy from outside than from the inside. Have you had a neurological event? I am not at the Green Party because of any climate change issue. I am their because there is ZERO donor money at the Green Party. The Democratic party, the Justice Democrats, the DNC and the Young Turks and the Damage Report are ALL fueled by Super PAC money. They have their own Super PAC, plus they draw money from the DNC and party PACs. The Green Party is what the Democrats should be. AOC is a paid drone of the donor owners. Alex Rojas is bought out signed, sealed and delivered. That Cenk and Ana are paid directly from the PACs. They are paid with blood money from the genocidal exploitative profiteers that own our plutocracy. They own the GOP and Democratic party. Tell me again how you will change the Democratic Party Richard. Imagine this. The 99.99% mustering and uniting under one party roof outside of the plutocracy with absolutely zero donor money. You are such an acquiescent drone; you can not fathom that.

maybe this is a little trite, but I think the politics of representatives is downstream of how organized we are. if our organizations have the power to make or break a campaign, for instance, that's a lot of leverage to push our policies... to quote Cesar Chavez, "we don't need perfect political systems, we need perfect participation." none of this is to disregard your concerns, I think they're very real. I guess I'm hoping we can recommit ourselves to the work as a way of defeating the fear and nihilism being imposed on us every day... like, a (even nominally) friendly elected is our foot in the door, it's up to us whether we push it open or get shoved back out

@simplydxwill
@simplydxwill 2 күн бұрын
I might also add that, socialism has only been achieved in nations where the overwhelming majority of the people are indigenous to their land. There is no evidence of the latter being possible; Americans are not even indigenous to the land - in my opinion, the objective of achieving American Socialism is not possible. I hope to be wrong, but there are only the facts so far.

@@richardbryanesq Capitalism and socialism aren't mutually exclusive. If, for example, unions are strong and worker co-ops are plentiful, then the dividends that typically get paid to shareholders would largely be dissolved into working class wages. This would be a capitalistic economy with a high degree of collectivism. Perhaps you could call it socialistic or collectivistic capitalism. Whereas, if unions and other labor movements are weak, then profits get siphoned away by the shareholders. That would be a more individualistic capitalism that effectively functions as an oligarchy, plutocracy, kleptocracy, corporatocracy, or any other description you would like to give. Socialism doesn't really require government regulation, it just requires an organized, vigilant, and united working class that doesn't get distracted and divided (usually by culture wars). Communism is where government regulation comes into play. Government regulation is not exactly helpful for the working class _if_ they are divided, because that regulation manifests as an authoritarian state-corporate merger which means socialism for the rich (or individualistic communism). Oddly enough, this _also_ looks like oligarchy, plutocracy, kleptocracy, and corporatocracy, only with more authoritarianism. If the working class is united, then government regulation can be useful and it will manifest as socialism for the working class (collectivistic communism). In other words, it's not capitalism vs communism, it's individualistic capitalism and communism for the _rich_ vs collectivistic capitalism and communism for the _working class._ Both capitalism and communism can be used to serve the working class at the same time. This would be a mixed economy. To do so, we must find a balance between collectivism and individualism through high working class consciousness. So long as working class consciousness is high, capitalism will serve them well with free-market labor movements, and government regulation will serve them well with good economic and social policy written by good representatives. The prerequisite for both of those things is working class organization, otherwise you can't build the labor movements _or_ elect the right people. And if working class consciousness is low, then the free-market will exploit the working class and the government will be full of corrupt representatives who write bad economic and social policy. The US isn't a capitalistic economy anymore, it's more of a mixed economy. The free-market capitalists got so good at dividing the working class amongst themselves, that they convinced them to elect corrupt representatives which then created a state-corporate merger....and the corporate media was the tool they used to divide the public. It's divide and conquer 101. The solution is simple though not necessarily easy. We must address both sides of the state-corporate merger using _independent_ media. We must use media funded by grassroots movements to elect better representatives (the state side), and we must use that media to build free-market labor movements (the corporate side). We must flip the script and transfer the power of the state and corporations away from the ruling class and to the working class. In that process, the working class _becomes_ the new ruling class.
