Curious why in govt classrooms, a simple connected camera, with faces masked, and AI cant be used to track basic quality metrics -- eg: is the class in session? Is the teacher teaching? Are students engaged or not? Broad counts of attendance etc? Advanced AI can evaluate the quality of the lecturing etc. It is important to do this with privacy as a key goal; and data carefully managed. If such tech could be integrated with carefully designed continuous monitoring and evaluation, it could be one pillar of quality at scale in public education. Even positive incentives such as prizes (with digilocker based teacher credentials) for good/great teachers could help pull the lower tail of the quality distribution up.

Really a great discussion! Till now I had only black-box view of politicians and governance. Intellectuals like Karthik can help to break our complex system into simple processes and then suggest how it can be reengineered. Most of us simply complain we have a bad system without understanding it fully. I think new generation understands the current issues and help on improving. Looking forward for the episode'2'..

One suggestion to the Team SparX : Whenever you get that explainer box in the left bottom of the screen, try to keep it atleast 10x of the current time duration. It goes off so quickly. Most of us, see the content in phone screens. QR coding is difficult for obvious reasons.

Dr Karthik, to compare India with China would be absolutely wrong ! And that is because of the size of the two countries - China being 4-5 times bigger than India in size, obviously, even if some economic activity, some industrial / agricultural / service activity happens in any corner of China, all that will certainly add up to the GDP; India is so small in size and therefore, the two economies are not comparable at all !
