ECU Tune Install - Speed Triple Mods & Maintenance 4

I wouldn't call this a how-to, but here's first time doing a tune flash on a fuel injected bike. Using TuneEcu, you can find pre made tunes to install on your Triumph bike (and some other European models as well). Since this bike has the full exhaust and intake, she really needed it. I also do an LED bulb install.

I just recently did this to my 09. I’m running the same map with a high mount GPR Exhaust. I noticed a little bump in power but also it really smoothed out the throttle on corner entry after hard braking. Makes the bike even easier to ride fast. I also just bought Speed Triple R PVM wheels to retro fit to my bike. REALLY excited about that.

Love the growl and mild pop from that triple. Much smoother after the ECU Tune. I might try that on my Aprilia.

Sounds mint! However, in regards to your comment on getting a steering damper. I see a lot of guys do this, you're better off spending your money getting your suspension setup for your weight as well as the tyre pressures. I had a 2021 MT09SP that used to tankslap like mad on full throttle. Literally all I did was add in a couple of turns of preload into the rear shock to add more weight on the front and the tankslap went away. No damper needed.

Suspension is something I always had bad experience with in the past so I do in fact usually skip messing with it. I got a bad leak on the left fork so I should kill two birds and look into getting it set up along with the seal change.

Awesome stuff. Love the content. I will admit, when I last used TuneECU for my aprilia, I didn't dive in as deep as you did. While the triumph guys are huge into this program, it's big with the older rotax Aprilia guys too. There's a fella who goes by Catfish who has made legendary tunes for the Caponord and Futura. They came rev limited by the factory to a lower spec than its RSV cousin. Simple flash and you get better mpg than stock and more horsepower

Sounds real good! I don't like when my headlight is louder than my exhaust so I installed a Delkevic exhaust on my rebuilt from a total 2012 VStrom 650. It got an LED headlight once all of the fairings were removed.

Can ECU Tune adapt for changing sprocket sizes? On newer Triumph EURO 5 models changes will display "Code P0915 - gear shift circuit range/performance". Additional information indicates "vehicle speed doesn't match gear." This is due to gear position, rpm and wheel speed being constantly monitored by the ECU. It seems the new Euro 5 ECU maps engine RPM against road speed for a given gear.

You should be pretty safe with a 9,700 rev-limiter - even some of the older Gen One Triumphs could manage that.

I have a 2012 with the dnk flash. Have you been able to find a steering damper and if so who makes it? I came across 1 that may work but im not spending $550 for the ohlins and no bracket.

These are street and steel Oakland gloves. I'll warn you though, they're not that durable.

How's the beam pattern with those LED bulbs? No hotspots or incoming drivers flashing their high beams at you? Hopefully they're at least better than the stock halogen bulbs, which have a horribly scattered pattern on my '06. Also, were these a straight drop-in installation? I had to return a set of Auxito led bulbs that Amazon said would fit my bike. I would have needed to enlarge the hole in the reflector housing to install them and I wasn't about to do that. Lastly, I've never understood what those tiny bulbs at the bottom of the headlight buckets are supposed to do.

@cordanez ..sorry to ask/say, *Why would you trust Amazon to know anything about motorcycles.....??* (sorry it's hard to not sound/read-as incredulously vexed at your assumption) It is likely those bulbs were for a car, as most bikes of the last 10 years all use the same reflector aperture diameter size, unless they're PRC Chinese made tofu-dreg machines.

They're pretty good. I installed them at the beginning of the year, they're still running good. They aim low like they should. And yes they dropped in. I think the little bulbs are "marker lights"? I've had a few bikes with them featured. Like my sv1000 had the mini bulbs at the outer corners.
