Big difference between training and qualification. All the places I teach run qualification one on one range time and training drills on another. Qualification are important to have a no bias way of recording officers deputies troopers warden’s performance but are certainly not training. It’s unfortunate that not all agencies follow this ideology. Good video. Great information and Thanks.

Interesting concept, wobble. The ancient Weeble masters have studied wobble for centuries.

Department qualifications are designed and approved by lawyers They’re not meant to provide training or improve a skill they’re there to cover the agency so they can say “we trained him/her” and shake off liability

Great content and discussion! Right up till the start of the drill... why on earth are you instructing students from the low ready in the 21st century?! Natural instinct (and common instructed technique) from the low ready is to "bowl" your sights on to the target. Even John talks frequently about the tactical misstep that is- the ability for an adversary to stuff your presentation at close range. There is NOTHING the low ready does that cannot be accomplished with a standard high ready or "depressed muzzle" (muzzle low) high ready. If we fall to our lowest level of training (or our most repeated muscle memory) in high stress, we should train the way we want to fight- therefore low ready shouldn't be instructed, and certainly shouldn't be where a drill begins at the 3yd line!
