Neo Vista is really amazingly comfortable, On Cloudboom Strike on the other hand really invites me to go faster with its soft but bouncy midsole.

Great review Edd, btw you actually have zero outsole wear. A lot of people get confused about this this because the tread pattern On uses with these is actually smoothed down on the perimeter in the high wear areas from the factory. You can take a look at the bottom of a new pair for yourself. The outsole durability on these is actually very good!!

Great video as always. This is my shoe of the year!!!! The Hoka Cielo X1 is close but this shoe is such a natural ride..and anything you said was spot on. The only flaw are the laces, they are insanely long. I will change mine for a duplicate of yours, those are clean. Lastly the color way I have looks so good, I bought a second pair for casual wear. Thanks again for covering this one.

Thanks for tuning in! I think sometimes when brands spam the influencers with shoes it can backfire. People don’t perhaps trust the review as much. My wife thought I had lost it when I told her I bought these but they have delivered!

Unfortunately too expensive so immediately out of consideration. However, for those that can afford them they seem like a decent race option. Though hard to beat the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 or some of the others that are much cheaper and may work just as well if not better for you. Glad you are enjoying them Edd! The heel collar gives me multiple blisters almost every time. Kind of ruins the experience sadly because I love the ride of this and it's nice and light.

They've missed a trick that someone else is going to capitalise on... soft n squishy, bouncy return, firm and responsive all in the one shoe with swappable insoles, or just replacable ones... (would need a better outsole though)

Been wearing the CM Hyper, and I’ve been enjoying them for my fartlek / tempo. HOWEVER, I’m not fast. So my tempo is probably an easy run. Haha. I’m only a 5:30-6:00 tempo runner. Relatively slow. 🤣

I think their midsole holes were a way of differentiating themselves in a very competitive market. Now they are established you see for their performance shoes they tend to follow the more tried and tested design.

The example you used isn’t really relevant here. You’re splitting hairs with shoes in general anyways. Especially at the premium most are great and most can be worn at all distances. But, some are built for certain distances and some aren’t. Alphaflys aren’t built for 5ks - the extra cushioning you get is not important so the sacrifice you make on the weight isn’t justified. At marathon distance, it is justified. Doesn’t mean you can’t run a fast 5k in them. It’s just different horses for different courses.

@@Gws525 well. Its relevant. Alphaflys are a shoe, thats designed for running under 3min pr km for 2 hours. So they are fast enough for by far the majority of runnners in a 5k. Wether people like to wear them or not in a 5k is another story. But they are surely capable of running a 5k.That goes for all the brands topshoes. Are there many ultra light race flats around anymore anyway? It could be interesting to know what shoes holds the fastest times in 5 and 10k road races.
