Nice review, Edd, pretty much how I expected your take to be on them. Personally though, I don't see enough major differences between them and the Sky v1, so I'll pass for now. However, I did snag a pair of the Edge+ and they'll be here tomorrow! 🥰 Excited for that higher drop and higher stack!

The difference is actually more pronounced after further runs. More aggressive than the original.

Good to see you like them..it's still my fastest 5k and 10k racer..the harder you pound them the better it likes it..I raced a 10k last summer in a monsoon type rain and the traction was great and it shed the rain great..a real get up on your toes and let er rip racer..hoping to have the edge+ ASAP cos V1 was a brick..

Looks perhaps a good as my ultra trust worthy and reliable Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 1. After 2 years, it still never fails to surprise me with the reward and bonus of its much touted energy return and run efficiency. Can’t wait for this Asics Metaspeed+ series to arrive at our shore in the retail shops for mee to try out. Definitely looking at the Metaspeed+ Edge 🙌

Re the Nike socks: Had the same experience with the racing socks, several holes after just a few washing cycles. With the Spark socks the Nike logo peeled off really quickly...

Managed to snag a BOX FRESH pair on Vinted for £75. Was very concerned about their authenticity when I bought them, got them today & theyre 100% real. Just bought the Superblast & FF turbo definitely has a destinct smell. The smell & the stiffness of the shoe made me certain they’re the real deal.

Only the second outing in these and yet I do find them very different from the original. I think for me, the original is a better shoe for 5s and 10s and whilst I successively broke PBs in the original over these distances, I didn't get that feeling with the +...until I tried at my half-marathon pace tonight and it came to life, so to speak. I find the original more aggressive - and it is early days and I may yet be proved wrong - because the stack in the forefoot, for me at least, takes away from lifting off from the forefoot. I love them both for different reasons but find the + will be awesome over longer distances.

Great review! I know it the past you’ve said ASICS tend to have durable outsoles. I’m a forefoot striker that tears through Nike outsoles pretty quick. What would you recommend for a daily trainer with a durable outsole?

I always thought of my Alphaflys as a more versatile race shoe. Excellent for steady long runs. Not as versatile as the RC Elite V2, but way more than the Vaporfly. Saying that it only wants to go fast, etc... reminds me of the Vaporfly. Does it have the Alphafly level cushion and bounce?

More aggressive in the forefoot. The FF turbo is not as squashy perhaps. More a rebound type material similar in feel to those big air pods

I think you could leaver out the insoles though they are cut very narrow and they may not fit all that well.

Hey Edd, greta views mate. I have the first version and set my marathon PB in it at Manchester a few months ago so have been "patiently" waiting for this lol. I do however find the Adios Pro 2 to be very stable for me, how would you rate the stability of this new Sky now the plate has been moved and there is a bit more foam in there mate?

Same here in the pro 2. There’s now a more aggressive feel to the sky which I really like.

On the Nike spark socks, I had the same issues with holes on mine, but noticed it seemed to be in the older version, I’ve got a few pairs of the newer ones where the reflective stuff is around the top and they seem to be a lot sturdier. No jokes at 13 quid a pair though!

After getting the metaspeed sky +, I was disappointed. I had read alot of good reviews. But I have struggled with them. Pro: They're spring + bouncy Good grip Cons: - Expensive even at the reduced price of 150 earth credits. - On first use the metaspeed sky writing on the insole rubbed off. - I felt the left shoe kept tipping inwards. I really wanted to like this shoe, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work for me. Sorry Edd.

Hey Edd, why would you do 1k reps or 2k reps (or metric system distances/reps in general) in training but still save your runs in miles and also calculate their pace in miles. 😬 Time to switch to the metric system, come on, you can do it. Come join us metric runners on the other side. 😂🤪
