Eddie LeVert was the lead singer for a group called the O’Jays back in the late 60’s thru the 80’s and his son Gerald LeVert was the lead singer for the group LeVert during the 80’s and 90’s, their biggest hit was Casanova. The O’Jays had too many hits to list here. I loved them both. Fantastic singers and performers. Gerald died very young and it was tragic. Thanks for highlighting this beautiful performance; I had never seen it. ❤🙏🏽

Beautiful song. Released by 5 or 6 popular artists throughout 1982, 1983 but was never a hit until Bette added it to the soundtrack of the movie "Beaches" in 1988. Her version hit #1 in the US in 1989. It has become a favorite selection for weddings and funerals. In 1990 it won Grammy awards for Best record and best song of the year. Then Bette's version was certified Platinum (1 million sold) in 1991.
