Wait a minute! The band not only has a very 50s sounding name but they arrived at the club in a ‘57 Chevy. Then they played “Runaround Sue” which was a hit in the very early 60s. I haven’t seen the movie but this clip doesn’t look like the 80s to me. I’ll admit that the keyboard could be a little electronically advanced for the 60s.

1958 to 1975 was the golden erq for music. RnR, RnB, Blues, Soul, hard rock, heavy metal Southern rock all converged on the music scene. there was so much crossover that made that time amazing. Everybody was doing everybody else on stage. They took from their hero's and made it their own. The guys that started the revolution were being played by their fans. The Brits took from everybody in the blues RnR and RnB. They morphed into hard rock and eventually heavy metal. The Allman Brothers revitalized the blues and started a southern trend of the music scene. Never will we see a crossover like that again.
