The Labour party are even more just pink Tory than they were in Blair’s day. LOADS of Labour MPs are landlords, they have consultancies in private health care - they really are indistinguishable from pre-Thatcher Tories. And the Lib Dems - well, they leaped from opposing student tuition fees to backing a giant increase - turned into total Tories for a sniff of power. They’re not a bit ashamed of their hypocrisy. The entire political spectrum of England has shifted further right every year since 1979. This guy, I have no doubt, is sincere, but what can he offer? Labour in power will do nothing.

Down in the gutter are all the people on benefits, nearly all the pensioners, 99% of refugees. Them in the gutter and you on the pavement are 60 families out of the hundred. The ones with a “good” job are inside, a couple of feet higher up in the ground floor flats. 35 families. That 95% is most of the people you ever personally met, including your doctor and the regional manager who pops in from head office now and then. On the first floor are the people you think of as rich, the ones whose kids go to private schools, the ones with second homes in France. Four families, or four and a bit. Did you realise most of the people you call the one percent only live on the second floor? On the next 17 floors, basically nobody. Most of Britain’s wealth, the whole of the rest of 18 storeys of that building, is owned by the people who live in the penthouse on the 20th floor. One small family. If 75%+ of the people didn't take any part in a general election, for instance, then that would have very real & serious repercussions re the status quo. And, check it out & you'll find that there is a means to place a `no vote for any candidate` on any UK ballot paper (has to be by Law) so's that that vote must be counted & declared by a returning officer. What might they declare after announcing that the no votes had won the parliamentary seat for whatever ward I wonder? As I recall the process is much like crossing a check of old...two parallel lines through/across the ballot with the word NONE set between. Eddie is a superb representative of his colleagues & members of the Unions. Having to stand there & speak to everyone as he does takes a lot of balls & is in no way easy. But it's the strength of those that voted for industrial action that give him his strength of conviction. We are only as strong as our weakest link. Solidarity to our Strikers & supporting Unions. #EnoughIsEnough #GTTO #NHSpay15

A rousing speech by Eddie which is so so needed , reminded me of Tony benn , but my question is why has the working man left it so late to act ? There is so much poverty , homelessness , suffering and hardship , it feels like it's too late as the damage is already done .

Oh I can answer that question Roddy. The right wing Tory press, namely the Mail, the Express and the Sun, have over many many years managed to con their readers into believing that by voting Tory, they are ‘better’ than their neighbours!!!! And vanity does the rest……😢😢😢😢😢

Partly because a lot of the left abandoned them and went down the critical theory/woke ideology which cares more about which racial or gender defined group people are part of then actually helping struggling individuals. Dempsey is thankfully stepping into the vacuum left by the political Lefts' lurch into extremism; he and Lynch are protecting ordinary people.

The Labour party need to book their ideas up, they should be getting behind all of this kind of thing and being relentless. People are crying out for a change and they're the only realistic alternative to the tory freaks who've been ruining our country for over a decade.
