It would be great to see some black billionaires like JayZ and Oprah make a change in the way American entertainment promotes new talent.

+Bethsaida Romelus Same with many black businesses that have been sold. As long as the top businesses are white-owned, if they see us excelling, they'll buy what we've built and created, unless we see less importance in money and more on leaving a legacy for our children, for our people. The purchase of Carol's daughter (beauty products) by L'oreal really bothered me. I know they went bankrupt but why? Why weren't we as black women supporting this business? It's one thing to encourage black people to create, but we need to encourage black people to support, help grow and sustain the businesses we create, and importantly trust that the business owners won't eventually sell it off to white folk. Now if they do, then as a people we should consider a boycott of that product/service or something. I don't know man. I don't have all the answers, Sway!

Think about the way the system is set up. Egypt, is by far the most amazing standard of civilization in human history. They are pretty much on par with the Greeks and the Romans. In fact, the Egyptian culture is perhaps the most influential in all of human history.... Now...think about all the black films that have came out in the last ten to twenty years. Why is it that Hollywood refuses to have a black characters like James Bond, or a black Spiderman, or any black heroic lead character? Yet we get films like, The Help, 12 Years of Slave, Precious, Yes they're very IMPORTANT films...but hear me out. They don't want a black man/woman with values, intelligence and charm. They don't want to present us a black leader. Furthermore, why is that the Aaliyah movie and the Whitney Houston movie (both iconic LEGENDARY black singers) gets a shitty low budget biopic on Lifetime, but yet N.W.A gets a full feature high budgeted film to be released in theaters nationwide? Much respect to N.W.A for coming out of nothing and making themselves millionaires , but lets be real, if NWA didn't exist, would the incarceration among black men in prison would still be as high?? No. One way to confine blacks is by corrupting their culture and taking away a "high standard of people" they aspire to. As you can see with Gods and Exodus AND the new White washed Egyptian film coming out next year, THE ELITES DO NOT WANT BLACKS CALLING THEMSELVES KINGS AND QUEENS.

Ice Cube, Dr Dre got the hook up with Universal and their studios that's why!!!! Dre, F Gary Grey, Cube was gone make sure that mf was gone be promoted. You have to remember Dre is linked with Interscope- which is linked up to Universal. Remember that!!!!!
@giomediaworks9 жыл бұрын
+Breanna Ward for sure Dre had connections. the problem is not about the hookups. I work as a screenwriter , and let me tell you how it works. In order for a movie to made and to be featured across theaters, you need an executive or a studio to sign off a budget. For an example, Many fans were rooting for a biopic for Whitney Houston, after she passed. Dozens of scripts were sent to studios across Hollywood. The problem was, executives refused to sign off a budget. The reason why NWA were successful was they had big executives willing to invest in the movie. Remember If it can happen, it WILL happen. Whitney has such a large fan base, so any executive would see dollar signs when they have the opportunity to create her biopic. But to give such recognition to a black female with talent and grace goes against their agenda. If you watch the Whitney Houston movie, it shows about her relationship with Bobby, NOT her success, and Aaliyah, they ignored her success but focused on her scandals with R Kelly. Some will argue that its for entertainment but in Straight Out Compton, they made Dre look like the hero even though he abused his wife. that would make great character development for a movie! but no...its all about making the bad guy s hero's and the good guys flawed.

Gio Garcia you ever consider not everyone was a king in Egypt
@marvinscott33647 жыл бұрын
It's not about being a King or queen or pharaoh for that matter (although that was the case for some). It's about the fact that this society was created by people of color...the initial name of Egypt was Kemet which means land of blacks. So we have an influential country where these great contributions took place, but the citizens who made said contributions get no recognition....I think that's the point @Gio Garcia is making. Certain points of our history is discussed redundantly, yet this piece of history in which we were apart of is seldom touched upon.

I used to feel smart as hell thinking for 30 seconds when I had no clue what the answer was). After those shows were over, the night was a wrap. Every once in awhile, a simpsons episode would come on the WB channel at 10:30 at night. I was always happy about that, because I would be getting in a good ass laugh (back when the simpsons were funny as hell) before going to sleep before school the next day. Those were the days.

We do need to come together as a community and get our own channels and build off that but black people hardly ever do business with each other and that's why we stay at the bottom now... We have that it's all about "ME" mentality or " I gotta get mines" because we've been groomed that way and habits are hard to break so until we can come together as a community you just going to continue to see this shit keep happening...

2:45 to 3:10 Eddie Griffin described none only Vlad's entire playbook, but those of JustPearlyThings and Adam 22 years later as well. It's simply how their people move.
