I was in hospital for four days, following surgery, and the entire time I was too sick and exhausted to read the books I had brought with me. However, I had discovered Eddie Izzard a year or so before, and had watched and re-watched so many clips on KZbin, that I lay quietly in my bed, smiling, running those clips through my brain. Whenever I remember those days, I chiefly remember Cake or Death and Star Wars Cafeteria and James Bond Chuckling Like a Dog and Italians Riding Scooters. Eddie Izzard made those painful days bearable, and, in retrospect, funny.

@MurdocsMinion Жыл бұрын
@@Anna-vl8qc Tomboys absolutely exist! So do butches, and drag kings, and he/him lesbians, and other gender nonconforming women. There are also men who choose to act, and present in feminine ways in all the same ways women can present in masculine ways. There are also those who are born with chromosomes, and/or body parts that don't match up with the binary representation of sex and gender as modern Western culture understands it. Did you know that the concept of a third gender predates the written word in some cultures? Isn't that amazing? Did you know that one of the most prominent nonbinary individuals in the formation of the USA* was a Quaker, and member of the clergy? They used a singular they/them, and referred to themself as the universal friend. And they were well respected! Their pronouns, their name and their body were treated according to their wishes when they died. If a people known for being intolerant and straight laced can do this, I have every confidence that you can learn to love people for who they really are, and not resent them for the bodies they were born into. I know that learning new things is hard, and that people get aggressive when defending their right to exist, but I also know that a little patience can make all the difference. I'm not going to argue with you. I just hope you know that you're loved, and that people will gladly answer your questions if you know how to ask them. I hope you have a wonderful December! *Edited because it was wrong of me to assume that a stranger on the world wide web was from the same country as me.

@@judeirwin2222 If you think about it man, we're all like one of a kind. Seriously though, yes not everyone is aware of how you can't claim something is unique and also one of two things. Education isn't equal everywhere, but I often think that criticism is better directed at making sure we value educators properly (by paying them what they're worth) and not at individual people who don't know what they don't know.
