Have always enjoyed Eddie. He lives his life authentically. And he proved that you can be whatever you choose to be. And you can do it without cutting down others. And still raise money for the people who need it.
@carlhartwell7978 Жыл бұрын
I like Izzard and agree that he's an exceptional human being for the effort he's put into helping so many needy people. However, try saying _'you can be whatever you choose to be'_ to the victims of rapists, perverts and chauvinists who 'choose' to be women in women's spaces. Try telling that to the many women and girls who are beaten in competition by physically superior males in the sports they've dedicated their lives to, for instance. If Eddie Izzard chose to totally change 'her' career and became a professional marathon runner, she would probably not be close to number one, but would certainly do a heck of a lot better in the women's comp than the men's! A heck of a lot better (even with age disadvantage)! We all know this. I don't bare any ill will toward anyone who can't change the way they feel. But when the right of one person or group supersedes that of another, that's a problem. That's pretty simple and rational in my opinion, the solution is less simple, because the problem is extremely complicated. But surely the solution is not so childishly simple as _Anyone should be able to be whatever they choose to be'._ That's ridiculously infantile. The puerile way people simplify very complex issues astounds me sometimes! TLDR Either respect the CLEAR difference between men and women (there is a distinction in the words/language because it reflects reality). Or let men take over completely. I prefer the former and I'm not even a feminist!
@Idontwant1 Жыл бұрын
@@carlhartwell7978 Dude CHILL. Carl get out of the dark ages. I said I enjoy Eddie and his sense of humor and his acting skills. The fact he chooses to wear high heels and lipstick is fine with me. His desire to wear high heels and lipstick doesn’t mean he is trying to win a gold medal at the Olympics as a woman. I don’t know what his sexual orientation is. And to be perfectly honest I don’t really care because it’s not any of my business. I really don’t think he’s a man who dresses feminine because he wants to go to the ladies room to rape them. Being Transgender isn’t about wanting to pull a fast one on the sex that they are transitioning into. It’s about feeling like they are in the correct body they were meant to be. A baby girl can be born with to much testosterone but she never grew her penis and testies. You see EVERYONE in the uterus is female. And then during the duration of the pregnancy their vagina either stays a vagina Or it grows into a penis. No Transgender Woman are going into ladies rooms to rape unexpected women. Believe it or not. Trans people have to urinate and have bowel movements to. And a transgender man walking into a men’s room is scary. Because believe it or not he is more likely to get raped than a straight woman in a ladies room by a trans woman . Or a transvestite or Drag Queen. Because transvestites and Drag Queens are GAY. A woman doesn’t have the sex organs they prefer. Again Get out of the dark ages Carl.

Eddie was one of the few voices of reason who was cautioning people having unthinking rabid vitriol against people like JK Rowling, saying that people were too quick to condemn her (and others), without understanding. And Rowling, in particular, was already vindicated, many times over. One just has to read her tweets where she lists all of the cases she was warning people about. Not about actual trans people committing crimes, but those predatory and violent, sadistic men who would take advantage of inclusive laws and even get themselves locked in a prison with women, simply by identifying as one, whether it's genuine or not. And it all happened. And then there are the numerous cases of girls and women who were attacked in gender-neutral bathrooms. And in a small percentage of those cases maybe those trans people were genuinely trans and not just pretending - to game the system. In which case, it just goes to show that trans people are PEOPLE, and are capable of immoral deeds, same as everyone else. But, many trans rights activists (whether they're actually part of the so called "community" or are just desperate to be good allies) don't even want to acknowledge that they're capable of bad things, wanting to paint a rosy picture that is not keeping with reality. And Rowling's detractors won't ever see those examples, or they'll write them off as "republican lies", same as they do with the malpractices at gender-clinics that have left thousands of children with irreversible changes to their bodies that they regret. If they 'could' see through the fog of their own echo-chamber and see outside of it, they'd realize they've become an ideology that treats any disagreement, dissent and criticism with as much intolerance as institutionalized religion often still does.

Now i love Eddie, and have done for years. Full disclosure: - I still don't like the whole 'Suzy' thing,.. its a bit weird. i prefer it when he dresses like a guy. That's just my personal preference. I can't pretend to understand his preference for dressing the way he does,... but it turns out my priority is the laughs. The charity thing, marathons, being a spokesperson for gay people.... i don't really care about any of that. The most sacred thing to me,.. is to be incredibly funny. - For me,... 7:45, he's right, people don't really care, if you don't make a big deal about it, but look at what's happened in recent times. It's turned into attention seeking and a political device, re call me "they", how dare you!, etc. People are fed up about it now and are sick of hearing about it and as a result, there's a backlash and people have become less accepting than they were before. It's thrown in our face everyday.

The backlash is from gifting culture war stokers looking to profit from rage gammons - most of whom didn't care about trans people a year or two ago. Regardless, these folk live in fear of being genuinely killed, and you are complaining about being slightly inconvenienced by having to remember a different word?
